Turner the Burner overweight?

I certainly wouldn't say that Turner is overrated by any means. He is a very productive back and has been for years. I remember when he became a FA, I was hoping that we'd sign him. That obliviously didn't work out, although I'm more than happy with D Will and J Stew (hoping that J Stew stays of course). Turner seems to have our number everytime we play each other. With our top defensive players back and adding in last years best tackling LB in college, I hope we can finally stop him and shut Falcon fans up.

Last year at home he had 21 carries for 76 yards 3.6 avg, it was our shitty pass-defense that couldn't stop Ryan.

didnt he get injured by half time in that game? i went to that game but dont remember for a fact.

i'm not sure about 2011 but that definitely happened in 2009. snelling killed us after turner went out but we survived thanks to a missed chipshot field goal and matt ryan throwing an awful interception right into i think richard marshall's arms when they had the ball at midfield with 4-ish minutes to go.

Happened in '09.

I remember that game TOO well. First, because we whooped Atlanta. Second, Turner just went bonkers. On just 9 rushing attempts, he ran for 111 yards. But don't get it twisted. It wasn't on some long run that makes that total misleading. No, he was tearing off 10 yarders and so just about every time he got the ball. We couldn't stop him. Thankfully he got injured or else we might lose that game. It was actually weird too because with Hollis Thomas, our run defense had gotten so much better around this time. Even shut down Adrian Peterson, well at least compared to how he does against most other teams (you can't truly shut down AD).

This guy is a Panther killer though. In just 8 games, he has ran for 783 yards, 4.55 YPC, and 11 touchdowns. And since he has joined Atlanta, they are 6-2 against us.

    • Bryce just didn't maximize Hunter Renfrow's skills. ***rant incoming*** But this isn't just about Bryce Young mistiming passes to Renfrow so bad that he's going to get Renfrow killed or hurt, this is also about incompetentence by Dave Canales. Renfrow can still play. He's putting DBs in a blender out there---making them play twister at the top of routes to keep up with him, and dumb Dave has the nerve to cut him. How about putting Hunter in the best position to help the damned offense by appreciating his skill set, DC? You're letting Bryce's apparent inability to make an accurate throw, or at least his timidity to push the ball down the damned field cloud your judgment and miscalculate talent---or maybe just miss on talent just as much as Bryce misses passes due to playing pussified football. It's fúcking unacceptable.  Speaking of misjudgment, I don't know if it's Dan Morgan or Canales, but Eijiro Evero is not the business at DC. I have said a few times that his scheme is not conducive to run-stopping efficiency. Hell, and after watching some clips of plays, now I absolutely know why. The gaps are at least half open before the play even fúcking starts. You are setting the opposition's RBs up for success with too much damned space at the line and in the second level. If our guys are taken out in these areas---at the line and in the second level---then the defense is screwed because it must rely on the safeties to cover too much ground to make the tackle. At least put Ransom in who is motivated to seek and destroy if you're going to effectively leave the safeties on an island.  And speaking of rookies, get our two new defensive ends more snaps to see if we can't generate more of a pass rush. For all the good the continued sorry display of defense that you're putting out for fan's to see (Ejiro, Dave and Dan), you may as well get the rookies generously involved. Fúck that money we gave second-rate (maybe second-rate) vets, we need a damned spark getting after the QB. Watch it, it's just another breakdown of the sh¡t we were subjected to last week. I say this with all respect: Fúck you, Dave! Fúck you, Dan! Learn how to run a fúcking franchise. Maximize the players, regardless of what you think you're supposed to do by the book. Cut the dead weight before another season is lost and fans lose interest in September. EE is "Ew!" Or for emphasis "EEw!" /end rant
    • But nobody is saying he is a good deep ball passer.  But the facts are since he's returned from his benching, he has been throwing downfield.  Whether you want to credit the scheme, Bryce himself, or whatever, he has been pushing it deep.  Not to any positive results mind you, but it has been happening.
