Bucs Desperate to Sell out Home Opener

The Buccaneers hope to launch the Greg Schiano with a ship full of fans.

The team announced on Wednesday a variety of incentives for the Week One home game against the Panthers and Cam Newton. The measures, via BayNews9.com, include free parking in select lots, a 50-percent discount on concessions, and a commemorative Ronde Barber gym sack.

Barber, a 16-year veteran, will be starting his 200th consecutive game on September 9.

Tickets to the Week One game go on sale Friday, and the seats can be purchased at Buccaneers.com.

The Bucs have struggled for the past several years to sell out Raymond James Stadium. The franchise undoubtedly hopes that a strong turnout for the first game of the regular season will set the right tone for the remaining home dates.

We should all go. I have family in the area If the price is right I might go. I know several Panthers fans that make the trip every year because the home fans are relatively polite. It kind of makes me angry to see such a degenerate fan base with a Lombardi trophy.

Ronde barber gym sack? What is their PR guy from the 50's? Who in the hell calls a gym bag a gym sack?

I use my gym sack to carry my knickerbockers and pomade to look dapper after a workout. I also keep a little champhor gum and lucky strikes for those after workout aches.

    • It would depend on how we lost... If we lose a bunch of 17-13 . 20-7 type games where the defense plays well and offensively Bryce is sh***TING the bed...then he wouldn't get fired.  If we are losing 40-9, 38-14 type games..then yeah it's a possibility.   Couple that with our tough schedule.. if we show well in lets say half those games.. win either Seattle or New England game, at least 1 win vs division oponents.. he's good.  So imo.. to get fired he needs to : Loose badly against the top tier teams ie Blown out Show no progress offensively from last year. Show an unwillingness to bench Bryce again if he is horrible over multiple games ..  Get swept by the Saints again.
    • I think he's gone, and rightfully so, if he turns in another losing record. The "talented roster," regardless of how true or not, is a double-edged sword. If the roster is so much improved now from 202X then why are you still producing losing seasons? On one hand, maybe that's what needs to happen. Have the GM hire the new coach, and then have the new coach pick his guy to run his system. That is typically how it works in the NFL. Not the forced inheritance deal we have had in place.
    • Hinging on Brooks to be our spark...be good if it happens... but not holding my breath....RB next draft. Morgan gambled...it would be a 2 year payoff if thing happened.
