Ask Vilma about Stew's blocking ability

He made a good block there and that's what people remember. That doesn't make him a good blocker in general. I don't take the things a place like PFF says as a fact but they are generally good and it's a good place to base a discussion. If they rank him badly on that it just makes me curious to look beyond a singular memorable play.

That play is awesome on every level. Good blocking (jstew). Good pocket presence and throw(cam) great catch and run(smitty)= touchdown! And epic brawl with the taints!

LOL - yeah, and if you look closely at the bottom of the screen, a sighting of the rare North American Otah (gasp)!

Is their really a guy watching every game and every snap a player makes to see how many tackles he misses? if so i want to meet that guy and shake his hand for having the most boring job in the world.

Not the same guy watching every game.....but a guy watching every game. Rating each player involved

PFF also ranks him as one of the worst blocking RB's in the league....so there's that

And we signed Tolbert.....

But you can't take that at face value. A lot of guys technically rank as good blockers bc they aren't asked to do it

No way Houston is so much better! - CRA

Carolina is better than HOU at running the ball. Foster right now is a better RB than Williams. More complete.

Carolina has the best ground attack bc of Cam....he puts them over the top

Idk I'd say Cam is one of the more elusive runners around and it's not just because he straight up jukes people. Alot of the times he just shifts and forces defenders to try to arm tackle him and he ends up making them look like fools, I consider that a byproduct of elusiveness even though it's more of a broken tackle.

In terms of the rankings, I'm not surprised. I don't think Ive ever seen Stew taken down by the first man to touch him. Williams is one crafty son of a gun - he manipulates tacklers to his advantage incredibly well and has enough balance to survive shoves and poor tackling technique.

    • Damn Logan Jones had a good day too. Was high on him coming in as he anchored that top Iowa line and is a fire plug inside. He's gonna be 25 to start the season so maybe he slips into the 4th but I doubt it, even if C isn't a premium position. His play on the field was top notch and the combine boosted it again. Arm length is about the only knock. But guy is plug and play at C.   This is a loaded class at C. Need to grab one.
    • Bryce will be permanently replaced by a draft pick. There's not another Sam Darnold out there to save us. Tepper is going to see this throw because he dumped Mayfield and Darnold too soon. He's going to give it 1 more year before he will sign off on dumping another 1st round pick qb. Thats the cold hard truth of it. It doesn't mean we can't get younger and much better at the backup position.
    • Maybe I should have used a different word and saved that for me. I want someone that has something impressive about them.  Someone that has potential to supplant a guy who is producing 25th best type of numbers. 22nd, 27th all that bottom third neighborhood.  I don’t know where that will come from it just can’t be from even a 4th round pick this year IMO. Unless FA is crazy productive.    I’ll give Bryce a better than bottom rating for his playoff game. Well above low twenties. But at least half of his games were bottom third level. Probably 2/3 to 3/4 of them were.
