people aren't going to be giving up an early pick for a kid with this much baggage...esp. a supplemental. very reasonable to think he could be had for a 6th or 7th rounder in the supplemental draft.

Talent driven league. Always a team willing to gamble on talent. I think he goes for a 4th easily

But you can't take away the all for the field issues, that would be part of the package.

Teams want talent. If the leadership and structure is in place.....talent is worth the risk. Too many examples of that IMO.

i just don't see it in a supplemental, but i'm JAG sooo....

We will see, all a team needs is 1 extra pick in the 3rd or 4th and they will pull the trigger.

JAGs means you are a solid poster....you just aren't a TRD or Zod type of current legend

He's going to the Redskins btw

don't believe so. Washington drafted 3 receivers last season and signed two this past year. Thats a lot of investment at WR just to draft another one. I think its a smokescreen to drive up the cost. Dallas wants Gordon badly so if they think Washington is in the hunt they may just pull the trigger with a 2nd or 3rd rounder. JMO

can some one explain to me why a supplemental draft exists? and why these guys are just not UDFA's?

chose to enter the draft/league too late.

usually it's because they were going to run into trouble transferring to another program or they got cut from the program they were in.

supplemental draft is to take advantage of these guys in their situations, but make it fair to do so for all teams.

I also agree that the Redskins will take a chance on Gordon which certainly worries me.

I have high hopes for Griffin III and they are certainly surrounding him with talent (Tim Hightower, Roy Helu, Evan Royster, Fred Davis, Chris Cooley, Pierre Garcon, Leonard Hankerson, Josh Morgan, Santana Moss, Niles Paul, and potentially Josh Gordon) that is a formidable offense right there.

I would like to have him but i just don't see a spot for him on the team. I believe Cooley will get his walking papers soon. If they feel Moss is nolonger in the picture i could see Washington making a play but from all indications Moss has been stellar in camp.

If he lasts to the fifth, take him. We're already out a third again next draft, we need those second and fourth rounders. Second round is far too high a risk for someone with that extensive of a history anyways.

You don't know where he will go before you put in your pick.

It does not move through the rounds like a normal draft.

Every team interested in him puts in the pick that they would be willing to give. After all picks are submitted, the highest pick gets him.

this is correct. it's like a silent auction.

    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
    • I think most people like XL from a personal standpoint. I don't think he's stupid either. Although if we are being realistic he is lacking in football IQ at this point in time and it cannot be disputed that he has not taken working on his craft seriously at all times given the body of work on the field. It speaks for itself. I myself have defended him at times given the circumstances of our QB room. But he is now in his third year and 25 years old. We are not in a position as a franchise to go around babying anyone especially first round draft picks. He needs to take his position and his football career seriously or he is going to end up selling used cars somewhere. I hope he realizes this and takes an extended break from social media because that mess certainly isn't going to increase his net worth if he ends up out of the league. And these hanger on types will disappear quick too once that money dries up and it surely will eventually. We'll see how he responds.
