These contracts are getting outrageous

If they want to pay that for Drew, let them. Our QB is younger, taller, stronger, faster and he doesn't have a small child hanging off the left side of his face! Good for them they can now proceed to the basement of the NFCS.

We're gonna have to pay Cam the big bucks too.

Not for at least another 2 more years. CBA is a bawla! And by then a number of large contracts should be off the books and we can write Cam a golden check if we want. Anyway what i was trying to get at without actually saying it, is that our QB will be better than Brees at that point.

Blame agents and blame the teams that go along with it. It's insane. I mean, I have money, but not THAT kind of money and I'm happy as can be. Athletes should have no business getting that much. Hell, no one should. There are other jobs out there in the world that deserve high pay (teachers, ER surgeons). But agents (with their cut in mind) have worked over society and it'll only get worse every decade here on out. My great great grandkids might see a billion dollar athlete.

Okay, so which team wants to be the ones to step up and break the cycle and watch their superstar go where the max money is.

Yep and Brees is more intelligent, more accurate, doesnt have a fake smile and is a proven winner in the NFL

    • At this point, I think Chubba is the odd man out. I hate that, but I think Dowdle gives us more production and big play ability.  But there is still a lot of football to play.  I think it depends on how much Dowdle will want too.
    • I’ve been anti-trade when it comes to Melo, but the way this season has started, it may be time.  I love his game and he’s a cool dude, but I’m starting to think, if he’s your best player, you’re never going to win anything of significance.  Too many brain farts, too many injuries, and ultimately for as fun and entertaining as he is to watch - his game is indeed a thing of beauty - it just doesn’t translate to wins.  And that’s IF he even plays.  I think it’s time to cash out and maximize the return.  I love Melo, but I think it’s pretty clear what the ceiling is for a team where he is the best player.
    • Every NFL team, college program, hell even HS has numerous "what ifs" that got derailed by injury. It's a brutal sport and half the battle is just getting lucky enough to stay healthy. Doesn't matter how durable you are and how well you take care of your body everyone is one weird hit or awkward twist away from a career derailing injury.
