It's really DeAngelo 21 guaranteed vs. Rice 25 guaranteed, the rest is irrelevant.

Love or hate DeAngelo's contract, it's a done deal - no use lamenting it or praising it now.

Except that it still impacts other aspects of the team.....and that makes it relevant. Will be relevant when Stewart becomes a hotter topic.

* edited first post, should of been 24 for Rice not 25

Right. So basically, no matter what Carolina does, it's a lose/lose to you, right?

It was not a good move. I'll admit that. But for God's sake, let it go.

But until the Stewart scenario is resolved it really still matters...

It is a lose, lose to a degree.....but they could make things worse. Bad vs even worse is what we are looking about ( and yeah both are studs)

our descent into the basement is reaffirmed by CRA. We are doomed to suckage for ever. I call 5-11 this year then 1-15 when stewart leaves and we field a middle school team. Go..er I mean panthers suck because of dwill.

BTW which way to the mass suicide?

I actually think we make the postseason if we stay healthy.....but most consider my opinions as radical negativity.

In fact, I will be shocked if we don't become a permanent fixture in the postseason in the Newton era (mass injury being the reason we could miss)

We usually have a good analysis of RB's when it comes to the draft, or i guess FA.. Even if a deal with JStew can't be done, next year we we still field two very good RB's, and bring in other talent. JStew is not critical to the offense. Neither is DWill, but we paid him, and he is here to stay for the next few years.

I am confident something can be done, but if it doesn't happen I am not going to freak out about it. Wouldn't buy a Stewart jersey though.

DeAngelo - 5 yr- 43 mill (21 guaranteed)

Ray Rice - 5 yr - 40 mill (24 guaranteed)

Only difference is Ray Rice IS the Ravens offense and 3 yrs younger.....

1.Its Jerry's money not yours.

2.we were 2-14 and the sky appeared to be falling when he signed that deal

3.We still have almost 9 million in cap space that we arent using, so who gives a fug? If we were strapped and paralyzed over it then it might matter

4.D-will averages over 5 ypc for his career, Rice has not.

5.Deangelo had 6 more rushing TDS in 1 season than Rice has over his career and 24 more total.

6. He's 3 years younger but has only 47 less carries than Deangelo so the wear and tear is worse on Rice on than Deangelo

7.Deangelo's better in every way and yet we paid him less so that means it was more Hurney Magic!!

    • He's not wrong though. You talk like a politician on here. Leaving yourself just enough wiggle room to say you never fully counted Bryce out if you need to....But we can all see it. Just say you think he is a bust outright and you will have to type a lot less. Obfuscating your opinion behind QB3 competitions etc....
    • Most EVs are in the 90+ e-MPG meaning some measurement house somewhere compares the EV to a similar ICE model and works out how much is costs to charge (on average) versus fill up as a point of comparison. Talking long term, in the hundreds of thousands of miles?  No clue.  Some early signs are that EV batteries maintain 80% charge over 400k miles.  So there's that.   The challenge and charm of an ICE vehicle is being able to park it under a tree, get your jack stands out and tinker with your engine.  There's just not that same level of complexity in an EV.  I saw someone estimate there are 200 or so moving parts in an EV, and 2000 in an ICE vehicle.  I'm not a part counter so I can't really speak to that. I think that the EV is more the future than any type of combustion engine.  Those will still be around in specific purposes, but for most people - an EV will be the superior option in terms of efficiency.  I say that as someone who loves stupid horsepower numbers out of turbo 4 bangers and inline 6s...  I am one of those tinkers when I can be. A bigger issue for EVs is going to be the ownership versus lease.  Right now, there are INSANE leases on EVs, which is great, but what do you have at the end of that lease?  Nada, maybe some equity if you're lucky.  Where as I'm almost done paying for my car, and plan to keep it until the wheels fall off (or my son wrecks it when he starts to drive).  Will EV makers do the smartphone thing and build in planned obsolesce?  Stop updating software?  I love the tech in EVs, and I think getting more cars and trucks off the road is a good thing.  But I am still just a little concerned.  Capitalism has gotten far too extractive.
