RON RIVERA'S thoughts on Super Bowl Guarantee (UPDATED w/ video *MUST WATCH*)

The problem with everybody who's not a Panthers fan laughing is this... They don't know jack or poo about our team. We rarely get coverage and when we have in the past it's been minimal. Unless you actually follow this team, you have no fuggin clue as to what's going on with this team. Just laugh right back at them and place your friendly wagers for free lunches while you still can!

This is incredibly true even from people i consider to generally be "credible" football fans.

Anyone else find it interesting that Ryan Kalil took out the ad after Otah was traded, and Rivera said, "if we don’t have 53 guys with that attitude in our locker room right now, then we gotta find the guys that want it."

Not saying they're related per say, but it is interesting.

The BIG CAT has spoken... Everybody is on the Same Page... Carolina has been forever changed!!

http://blogs.nfl.com...e-cool-with-it/ ARTICLE

http://www.nfl.com/v...ter_nfln_videos VIDEO

The smirk on his face when talking about having Healthy LBers and Keuchly was priceless... He doesnt cover Kalil's Guarantee until the last qtr of video... He SMILED BIG AS IV'E SEEN when the reporter asked about what he thought!

Damn you got me all excited, I was expecting to see a video of Jerry Richardson saying something about us being super bowl bound this year. That would truly be a feat for him to make a pubic statement like that.

Foxy was happy winning 3 games out of every four. It makes for a good record but for a lousy mentality. "eh, we lost 2 in a row, it's cool, we can win 6 in a row starting next week...welp, we lost our third, but we can start the win streak next week...". That's a loser's mentality. Rivera has brought along a "we will dominate every game" identity. I'm fuging stoked. And it's not annoying or brash like Rex Ryan, but very well thought out and confident.

Players can buy Rivera's motto. Thats the problem alot of these rah rah guys like Rex Ryan have, they say way too much and if it isn't followed up on, the players lose faith. Rivera sees strengths in our players and lets them know what they can become, and what they need to do to become that.

Statements about "dangling the carrot" in front of LaFell and "it's up to Jeff if he wants to play" are great because it makes players feel like they have control. When your on a 53 man team, things can feel out of reach, you can feel like you have no impact, but the truth is if everyone works together and works hard they all will have an impact.

    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
    • I think most people like XL from a personal standpoint. I don't think he's stupid either. Although if we are being realistic he is lacking in football IQ at this point in time and it cannot be disputed that he has not taken working on his craft seriously at all times given the body of work on the field. It speaks for itself. I myself have defended him at times given the circumstances of our QB room. But he is now in his third year and 25 years old. We are not in a position as a franchise to go around babying anyone especially first round draft picks. He needs to take his position and his football career seriously or he is going to end up selling used cars somewhere. I hope he realizes this and takes an extended break from social media because that mess certainly isn't going to increase his net worth if he ends up out of the league. And these hanger on types will disappear quick too once that money dries up and it surely will eventually. We'll see how he responds.
