Question about Geoff Hangartner from a Bills Fan

Recommended Posts

Hey guys...just decided to register and see what you guys think of Hangartner.

I'm a huge Bills fan, and have realized that after the trade of Peters that this line is gonna be completely rearranged. Talks have been that Hangartner is likely gonna be at center, but it may depend on Eric Wood (Our #28 draft pick) being able to adapt to guard.

Just wanted to get your opinion about having Hangartner as a starter on our line. I saw he only started 8 games last season, but how did he do? Solid player?

Let me know, thanks alot.

always solid and filled in incredibly whenever he did. was a favorite down here. we're gonna miss him but he wasn't going to get a starting job here but he deserved to get one somewhere.

replacing him is hard to do. he's a good guy that plays hard and nasty and does everything 100%.

You'll like him... I hate we lost him, and really think he could've started for the Panthers... He's a solid player, with excellent smarts... I can't blame him for wanting to start, and we couldn't pay him what he deserved... Good pickup for the Bills... You'll be happy with him...

I personally prefer GH at guard. When Kalil was out last season the opposition defense seemed to have our number a little bit with the snap counts and I can only assume it is little manerisms of Geoffs that gave it away. Not saying it hurt us incredibly, but I think, as a solid player you get the best of him at guard.

Despite that he is an incredibly intelligent guy and if he is working full time at centre (he flip flopped to guard and centre for us A LOT), then he has the smarts and the determination to iron out any weaknesses of his.

he was a great guy, wish we could have kept him

he is secretly the best LB in the NFC, perhaps even the NFl...

dont miss use him on the offensive line like we did.. demand that he starts middle LB, you won't regret it... the man is money

:D

I've been wondering if they would have given him the starting RG job if it wasn't for the fact that we had no cap space.

My take is that he wasn't the most powerful guy out there. I don't think he's a huge asset in the run game.

Overall I'd say I don't think he excels at any aspect of the game, but neither is he terrible in any. I think his main asset is his versatility and that he's a competitor. He's probably not going to dominate anyone, but he's not going to just get abused either.

For you guys, he's a good pickup. He can be part of a solid line.

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
