Spartanburg the most brutal training camp site in the NFC South? Probably the whole NFL in my opinion.

The morning practices are typically 90 and humid. The afternoon practices can push triple digits. A player once told me that the morning practices were 10 times worse for the players. He said he could wring his socks afterward and it was like pulling them out of the wash cycle halfway through. As a spectator, the afternoons were worse for me. One thing that always amazed me about NFL players is that they earned their positions in those conditions, then had to fight for playoff spots and wins in freezing ass places like Green Bay and Buffalo four months later.

Try Phoenix in the summer. No humidity but at 128 degrees planes can't take off. My flight got delayed cause of that before.

I'll take 128° and no humidity over 90° and 100% humidity any day...when humidity is high it doesn't evaporate the sweat off your body and leads to a higher chance of heat exhaustion.

be glad training camp isn't in Columbia.

This new official Columbia motto is "Famously Hot"....Fan freaking tastic.

It Should be: "Crappy City...Even Crappier Weather.. watch out for that bullet!". Two more tear till I should be back in Charlotte...darn wifey in Nursing School.

I lived in Tampa for 20 years.

Spartanburg is worse. Much much worse.

I lived there from 1976 to 1978, Tampa is brutal but muther fuggin San Antonio was even worse in 1979. Saudi Arabia is LSD trippin hot. Spartanburg, I judge you this Saturday.....

I spent time on the drill field at Fort Jackson and Fort Benning as an Army reservist, and I was an enlisted Marine who did Parris Island and the swamps of Camp Lejeune. I was also born and raised in Wilmington, N.C. - no slouch when it comes to summer heat, either! When I was a kid, I loved summer because I could always run around in just my shorts and a t-shirt. If all else failed, the ocean was right there to jump into. But as I get older, I am coming to really appreciate the charms of late fall and early spring!

I love the Panthers and I have been to camp.

Once.

That said, I doubt I ever go back. There are some pretty cool peeps to talk to and there are some very knowledgeable fans but there are a lot of grown men trying to get sigs from 20 somethings who are hot as hell (no homo, it gets fuggin hot). So there is an embarrassment factor. All that clamoring for a signature is a little creepy to me. Add that to the heat, no coolers, and no shade.......Pass

Good luck at camp camp-goers. I do appreciate all the news from those that report and I get liberal with the pie and like stuff. Enjoy. Don't hate me because I'm not superfan!
