Carolina Panthers Fan Fest information

Fan Fest is Saturday at Bank of America Stadium. Although the practice is not until 4, there are things happening on the field before then. At 3:30 they usually play a really nice highlight video from the previous season. Then the topcats take the field with a routine or two before the players make their way down.

Here are some tips:

- Although Fan Fest is free, you will still need to have cash on hand to pay for parking. The garages are usually cheapest. 3 Wells Fargo garage next to The Green is a short walk and pretty cheap/clean/safe. Get to it off of College St.

- If you want autographs, get there early and sit on the home side of the stadium (south). Seems like more things get signed there than anywhere else. It helps if you have a specific player in mind and have a sign or something made up for him to get his attention. It also helps to have a 9 year old next to you.

- Shade will be at a premium. Again, get there early if you want a shaded seat. Aside from the autograph seats, they are the most coveted.

- Bring a Camera! Pictures from fan fest are eligible in our training camp photo contest. Topcat pictures can be entered and may be a easy way to win that sucker.

- This will be the best action from camp. Something happens when those players are in the stadium in front of fans. They go at full speed and have a bit more contact.

Please feel free to add your own tips or experiences here...

This is actually my first fan fest but most importantly its my Japanese girlfriends first introduction to football. (Apparently the NFL isn't big in Tokyo) I don't know how she is going to handle football season between the Hokies and the Panthers we've only been dating 6 months so we will see....

But since she saw the Pink Newton jersey/shirt combo with rhinestones and glitter she is at least excited about dressing for the event.

Personal note I wouldn't mind getting Olsen to sign my 88 Dexter jersey.

there was one a couple of years ago where i think the earth was closer than normal to the sun and EVERYBODY sat in the shady section of the stadium.

so yes. get there early or risk being rotisseried.

Happened to me at the open practice. Any and all exposed skin was french fried.

    • He can’t even learn to run routes. No chance in hell he can do both that and pick up blocking schemes
    • Well he had essentially a 70% completion rate for almost three thousand yards.  Biggest issues were awkward and inconsistent release.  I wouldn't call arm strength bad, but not great.
    • I see him being better and most of that is a few downfield passes that were seemingly non existent.    But it is what is around him that has dictated the trajectory more than the quarterbacking. He is game manager level and unable to dictate to defenses.  And even if I am wrong and he is the reason we ‘upwarded’, we are bumping our heads on the ceiling and only making meager gains. If it is an incline it is awfully shallow degree wise. Like a finance graph that tracks your progress and hovers around the rate of inflation. Barely breaking even.  Is that where you want your money?  We make up these deadlines expectations and generally he does the minimum of what he needs to do to hang around.    It does not encourage me to believe that when we get into a game against a good run d that we cannot break down with our run game, to believe that we can pivot to the air and successfully counter their strategy.  But they run it back again. Of course I am gunshy of a repeat of the same thing we have watched for three years.    oh, and yes his durability is his most impressive positive for my money. I fear the other shoe dropping on that and the contractual consequences that will follow.   Last  of all, too late to edit my mistake here but would like to acknowledge it: the last three years has done very little to convince me that I was not wrong in not wanting him. One too many “not”s.
