Tonsillectomy

Jackofalltrades

I had mine out in my late 20's. It really felt bad the first two days after and I was taking that liquid pain medicine all the time. Dont rush back to eating crunchy/hard foods too soon. Over a week after my surgery I was craving bacon. It felt like broken glass going down.

Who are you seeing JOAT? If Dr. Reiff sent you then it is probably the same guy I had a consultation with last year and is supposed to be the best around (forget his name). I was supposed to have the same surgery as well some bridges put in the back of my throat. Guy was up front and said it would be the worst few days of my life because of the pain and if I could find him, I would most likely try to kill him. 2 week recovery time. Said if I was a kid it would be no big deal but as adults it hurts like a mutha fugger. Guess the bridges inserted in the back of my throat would have something to do with that also though. Glad he was honest with me because I pussed out.

Good Luck...let me know how it turns out.

It was a referral from Dr. Reiff an I'm seeing Dr. Langford who's office I've been going to since I was about ten. Dr. Chikes, recently retired, did three ear surgeries on me in my teens.

What bothers me is this, I went to Dr. Langford about a year ago and asked about this same surgery and he said he didn't think it would make any sense or much of a difference. Now, because I was referred by a Dr all the sudden it makes sense? Nothing has happened in the last year, I seriously doubt my anatomy has changed since my last visit.

Anyway, I may have to double down on the Loritab for a few days. However, I'm really looking forward to the end result.

How old are you, JOAT? I know that once you're grown, tonsils are very vascular and very engorged in their little cavities. I've heard of doctors refusing to remove them for 25 year olds, even with PTA, because the procedure and recovery are so difficult.

Good luck to you and follow the orders on the prescription. Don't stop taking meds just because you feel better. Finish them per doc orders.

    • I dont think people realize how hard it is to find a consistent starting QB in the NFL. Byrce will not heart us to a SB but I do think he can manage to get us one or close..go all in on defense and change the Offensive passing game and play calls. I really think our biggest problem is our HC.  Take New Orleans QB for example, switch him and Bryce and I promise you it'll look similar or worse. New Orleans OC is levels ahead of Canales. And as far as the draft goes, in this division with as much rb talent as we face ..the answer...this guy:    Pick up a couple edge rushers in FA along with a corner and plug this guy in Rozeboom's spot. Defense solved. But only if we get a top tier rusher on that dline....jus saying
    • I think I'm going to the game in Los Angeles vs Paraguay, and the England / Croatia game here in Dallas since my mom is British.  For decent seats anywhere in the building(s) it looks like it will be upwards of $7k for the two games.  Insane. Just for perspective, you could buy field level EPL tickets for any one of the top sides in the league, and it would be 10% of the price you'll pay for crappy seats at the World Cup.
    • Meh… I knew this thread would turn into a Bryce/Tua comparison, when they couldn’t be further apart situations.   Dolphins catered there whole offense toward Tua, they brought in a coach that would run a Tua friendly offense, the went in got the best most explosive WR in the NFL and paired him the fastest WR in that years draft. Panthers have done the opposite, they went and got a Pete Carroll disciple who likes to run the ball under center, they drafted big slow WR who got little separation in college. Literally the polar opposite of Bryce’s scouting report coming out of Alabama.   Tua was a decent QB 2 years ago, but the concussions, lack of movement have caught up to him. He never had a great arm to begin with but now since he doesn’t want to get hit he’s taking the whole offense down with him.
