Smitty's foot infection

Something to worry about? Heard that Mortenson turd is calling it a staph infection. Not sure how long they last, but it would fugging suck if he misses any regular season games.

If so, Murphy and Lafell will have to step up unbelievably considering tutu armanti are bad and pilares seems to be solid but doesnt look like hes developed into a consistent starting/slot role.

Steve Smith is on crutches at Panthers camp nursing his left foot infection.

We should note that ESPN's Chris Mortensen referred to it as a "staph infection" on Thursday night's NFL 32. Coach Ron Rivera acknowledged Smith would be listed as "out" if there were a regular season game today. The Panthers are treating the infection with antibiotics and "monitoring" the swelling. We're not worrying yet, but this looks like a situation worth tracking.

Just out of curiosity, what have you seen from Pilares to indicate he is "pretty bad"?

Granted, he's had few opportunities, but he has always performed well when given a chance.

It is definitely something to be worried about. He cant do any work right now, so the longer it takes to heal, the longer it will take for him to get back in shape. I could see him missing a few regular season games.

Dude.........chill.

the phrase "get back in shape" should never be use when discussing 89.

everything is going to be fine.

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
