The biggest problem with Armanti...

That texans returner has had 3 TDs on returns. Adams hasn't even come close to that. Not saying he's bad just nothing special so far.

He has gotten more out of our pure poo special teams play in front of him than anyone else has. I'd say thats special.

Not singling you out, just that Adams is the new shiny toy and everyone is caught in that hype. I would love for him to become an awesome punt returner, but I'm just looking at it objectively and he is basically Armanti but comin from a bigger school and with out the position change. Just concerns me a bit.

But objectively he isn't basically Armanti.....he is a better return man and has more potential at returning as a rookie than Edwards does a 3rd year vet.

Recieving is probably a push unless you put them in screen type setting then Adams again has more potential.

They are looking to occupy the same role on the team....so again to keep Armanti you have to ask what does he give you over Adams? His ability to throw doesn't seem to be enough in my mind. The Armanti wildcat is a weak option and less of a problem for defensives than a standard Newton play

I feel like I am talking to children.

Why are you pulling other PR's into the conversation ?

Why are you ignoring the horrible state of our Special Teams in doing so ?

Why can you not admit the Adams is a career PR guy who has had success in THE conference in football ?

Can you honestly say you would rather Armanti field punts that Adams ?

Do you think Armanti (after the several years to do anything) has more ability to make plays in the PR game ?

Will you support Adams once Armanti is not a Panther or will you be joining Armanti in the CFL message boards? Serious question.

I've already stating my preference for Adams to be punt returner AND kick returner in the Pilares threads. I love his playmaking. Doesn't mean his bad hands won't be worrisome at points in the season.

Chud nor those who he developed his base scheme from have never shown to use heavy WR sets. Return aspect carries the most weight in this competition considering the guys ahead them on depth chart

The standard response whenever you bring up a bad play or weakness in a player here is something along the line of "so you think we should cut him?" You have to be all for one player or another and if you bring up that Adams has bad hands it automatically means you have an agenda for some other player.

As an Armanti fan I actually hold him to higher standards. If he isn't going to shine, I'd rather him be cut than wallow in mediocrity just so I can see him play every once in a while-- what's the point in that. Nothing will suck more than him making the team, being mediocre and then having him pummeled in the press and on the message boards. I'd rather have great players than "my boy" playing average. Of course, as we sometimes forget---- it ain't up to me and it will be what it is.......

Point taken. But not saying he is worse the. Armanti, just that they have looked the same outside of one punt return. People like to forget but Armanti had one or 2 decent punt returns his first year in the pre-season. I admit that Adams is shiftiness, but if that doesn't lead to more yards on the field then it's irrelevant. Hopefully it does however.

Adams looks great at returning punts in college, looks great in his first couple preseason games IN HIS FIRST SEASON, has a bad night last night....cut his ass.

Edwards doesn't return punts in college, looks pathetic his entire professional career....let's give this guy another chance. ?

Please, someone refresh my memory...how many career receptions does Edwards have?

    • After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem
    • You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….
    • Three straight first round WRs is straight up Matt Millen poo. Considering the draft capital we have tied up on Bryce after that trade we would basically have spent damn near all of our draft capital in recent years on QB and WR just to put one of the most anemic passing offenses in the league on the field. Clown show poo.
