Winning it all....

I remember watching the Super Bowl hoping the Panthers would pull it off and then watching them fall so short. Growing up, my little league baseball team won a championship, that's the last of glory for me. The Panthers are the only team that is tied to my heart, the Bucs Monday Night Game I was screaming and yelling every time D-Will of Stewart busted off a huge run. The Bears game when they couldn't stop Smitty at all. Most of my memories of the Panthers are recent ones, I didn't become a fan until around 2000. It wasn't until I started playing football the I really started to pay attention to the NFL.

Okay so now to bring it all together. Has a team you lived and breathed ever won it all?

What do you think you will do if the Panthers do win it all? (riot, drink even more than you currently were while watching the game, take your clothes off and run naked through the streets)

I have been a lifelong Phillies fan and watched them win 2 World series including last year. It was awesome but I think the panthers winning would be even bigger since I will be there in the stands rooting them on.

I like to think of myself as a spoiled sports fan, of course with UNC winning the title 3 times in my life time ;)

Then in '05 the White Sox won the World Series which probably has been my favorite title to bring home. This year hopefully the Blackhawks will win the Cup.

My really only championship defeats were the Panthers in the SB and UNC baseball the first year they lost to OSU, just because they were one win away, then f-ing Garrett Gore had to throw the ball away!

But if the Panthers were to win it, I would most likely shed a tear or two.

Been a lifelong Oakland A's fan, so seeing them win a championship (especially against the GD Giants) was great. My high school football team won district, and that was a pretty awesome feeling, and my other ball team has won tourney's and city championships too, but nothing could come anywhere close to how I would feel if Carolina won it all. I don't know what I would do, but it would involve a week off of work for sure. I'd also be happy to recoup the $100 a year minimum that I put down on the Panthers to win the superbowl. So far I'm down about $2500, but one good year could bring it back!

Back when I cared about baseball, the Atlanta Braves won. Other than that, no.

*waits for all of the predictable UNC fans to show up*[/QUOTE]

Hurricanes fan, so I know the feeling of investment and the team winning it all. Great feeling, best feeling you can have as a fan.

When the Panthers lost that was pretty bad, Once the kick went out of bounds I kinda saw the rest of the game flash before my eyes and saw us losing the game on a FG. Sucked.

Also a UNC fan and it has been awesome winning twice since 2005.

    • Yeah not taking that Burns trade was infinitely stupid. We seem to be finally righting the ship but, imo, our biggest issue since Tepper bought the team has been coaches and management having a poor understanding of where our own roster is at. Starting with that idiot Rhule drinking his own kool-aid and thinking he was going to come and take the NFL by storm with Teddy freaking Bridgewater. Could have just kept Cam on the last year of his contract and gone from there but noooo that fat slob had to feel like he was the big man on campus. First round wizard Marty Hurney who, for whatever his faults, has a freaking HOF track record with first round picks, wants to trade up for Hebert but fat fug Rhule says no. Then we kept Rhule for 3 years which is absolutely unbelievable to me and every single year he treated our roster like it was just one player away trading our draft picks for Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield who have proven since leaving that Matt Rhule was an even bigger idiot of a coach than we thought. We finally seem to understand we are a ways off and trade CMC, but then we don’t take the actual good trade for Brian Burns who was never better than a run of the mill situational pass rusher. Then we botch the self scout of our OL (and team) after Wilks, even though they were bad before Wilks simplified the scheme, thinking they can execute whatever the hell Reich and Brown were trying to do. So we win a couple meaningless games playing dummy ball and Fitterer thinks we’re a player away again. And nobody even considers that having the slowest receiving corps imaginable with Damiere freaking Byrd, who can’t even make it to the season before being injured and cut, as your only hope for speed, coupled with the worst pass blocking OL I’ve ever seen, might lead to titanic levels of disaster. The way Canales and Morgan have been adamant about constantly bringing competition at every position has been refreshing and made a huge difference. I was kind of worried that we had fallen into our old ways leading up to the draft with all the talk of defense only and worried that they might feel the offense was set. Very glad to see they were not complacent on that. My big thing now is I’m still wondering why Evero is still here. I can’t think of a single player who has gotten better under him, and the Broncos defense got better once he left. We’ll see.
    • really good interview that gives some insight into their decision making process in making up the schedules and the issues they run into with so many people broadcasting games now. also some interesting discussion on what they have going on and where they might be heading in the international games. vikings have 2 of them, btw. we might be seeing more of that.
    • wow i absolutely LOVED watching that.   will watch again...and again...and again.
