Charles Godfrey

Godfrey played pretty good, I just wish he stops trying to tackle with his shoulders all the time, and wrap up.

I'm usually right there with you, but I thought he did a great job tackling today from what I remember. Or it may not have been as noticeable compared to the amount of arm tackles that Nakamura failed on.

Yeah Godfrey was play was good, he's is def not the safety I'm worried about.

Also Charles Johnson should get most of the credit for that INT.

I am concerned with Nakamura! It seems like he is always trying to not make a tackle! I swear when someone is running at him he moves! Except for his goal line stop. Anyone else see this? I have seen it in every game from pre season tll now!

Nakamura isn't scared at all to stick his nose in there and make a hit. I just think he's not that athletic, and therefore will miss a lot of tackles in space. It's not because of want to, I just think it doesn't take much to juke the guy out.

Agreed FS should be #1 needs in the off season, if not very high on the list.

No concerns with Godfrey he is taking to the coaching extremely well and hopefully he keeps playing like he has been. Our D needs for him because as we no he is the only capable one between the 2 safety positions.

I'm hoping Godfrey finally comes into his own this year. He has all the ability in the world, but has never caught up to it. I'm really hoping the hiring of Wilks will be looked back upon as our greatest offseason acquisition this past year.

I'm still holding out hope for Sherrod as well. Dude's fast and opportunistic with a tipped ball. He just can't seem to stay in position or tackle. Maybe being benched will give him that motivation.

But back to the topic, fug yes Godfrey.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
