ATL D

yeah, ATL's D looked impressive, but very exploitable by a good run game. they could very easily be shredded.

a large part of it, like many said, was that they were taking advantage of an old, stiff, slow, and rusty peyton manning in a very loud environment.

this isn't the same old peyton manning from even a couple years ago. the past two years have not been kind to him and the game isn't the same as it was when he last played. sure, he only missed one year, but that year was the year that passers really broke out in a big way and now defenses are getting more prepared for it by playing the way the falcons did.

one thing about peyton, every time the defense got to him i was scared for him. i mean they could paralyze him and it's not just the falcons...it's every defense out there able to take advantage of a immobile stiff-necked old QB. i think he made a huge mistake in going to denver because once cold weather hits and he's having to practice and play outside in sub-freezing temps, his neck is going to start to ache and stiffen up even more. he's spent his career playing over half of his games sheltered from the weather and now he's gone to spend the last couple years of his career in one of the harshest of climates? and this after 3 neck surgeries?

i'm sorry....that's just not smart at all.

when we play the broncos i think that some of the rust may have fallen off peyton, but i think he'll be a lot more beaten up. i honestly don't see him finishing the season and i don't see him lasting more than a year or two longer before retiring.

that's not true at all

but after reading the diarrhea that came out of your keyboard about keuchly in that other thread i'm not surprised you'd say something idiotic

I will let the stats speak for themselves because stupid insults want change them. Denver can't hide there QB behind a weak schedule this year.

wow a lot of fans underplaying a rivals good game, who woulda thunk it?

Atlanta did play a good game, they just got a little help from Peyton in the first quarter. They kept most of their routes short so Ryan was only taking 3 step to keep VonDoom from getting to him early. Their run game is really just non existent, like Week 1 against the Bucs nonexistent. And their defense plays very aggressively, but its something thats very exploitable.

    • I don't necessarily think he will be moved, I would currently be leaning against that notion. I think a lot will depend on the coaching situation. Carroll certainly can't be thinking about wanting to go through a serious strip down and overhaul, so the longer he plans to remain, the less likely I think Crosby gets moved.
    • I think everyone says Mike Evans because of size, but really they have different strengths and play styles.  Tmac is better on intermediate routes and not nearly as good at contested catches.
    • At this point, it is criminal to go into the 2026 training camp/OTA's with XL penciled in as a #2 WR. The team must upgrade, either through free agency or the draft. If he cannot give 100% effort on significantly less snaps as a #4-6 WR(players like Tremayne have done that consistently) then I don't think you have a player worth rostering beyond the trade deadline. Offensively, we eventually have to upgrade to an NFL starting caliber C. It's been almost the length of time from Gross to Ikey since Kalil retired and we have below average to terrible C play. Love Mays as a BC-esque utility backup but he will never be an above average long term starting C.  The TE room is one of the worst in the NFL but it's a low usage position in this offense, so the investments are likely to be small, if any. I would never expect to see an elite TE in a Dave Canales offense. 100% agree on OL depth. We actually aren't bad there but BC will be gone, Mays is a UFA, Corbett is a UFA and Zavala has been both injured and bad. We have to bolster that depth again or resign guys like Mays and Corbett to keep that depth somewhat stable.
