Jerry Rice just took Cam over Steve Young

My 7 year old son asked me how old Cam Newton was a few days ago. A day later he asked was Cam married like my wife and I. Yesterday he asked was Cam number 1 just to be sure. My son has never been this interested in the Panthers even with the D.Will, Stewart and T.Davis jerseys he has. He has been to multiple games and fan fests since he was born but still, I have not seen him this excited about watching the Panthers. Cam has the ability to draw in the younger generations with his style of awesome play that will change the non-chalant attitudes of Panther fans to the over zealous fan fanatics like the Steelers, Packers, Eagles, and Giants. Cam just needs to stay hungry which I think he will.

Yeah, it's hard to deny that Cam just has that 'it' factor that captivates the audience and draws people towards him... and it's even harder to believe that one man can contain so much swag.

As much as I love Jake and Smith (both probably tied as my all-time favorite panther[...so far])... I can honestly say they never came off quite as strong as Cam does. There's just something about the dude. We all know he'll be great... the question is, just how great?

I'm with Jerry. Ten years or so from now Cam will be considered the MJ of football.

funny how people are saying to tap the brakes and wait until we win a lombardi, but it's jerry frikkin rice saying it.

you think he doesn't know what he's talking about?

This is kinda my thinking. I mean he did play with Young and he IS Jerry Rice. Seems like he's be uniquely qualified to compare the two...at least more so than the other talking heads.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
