The biggest problem with this loss...

is that all the respect we got from beating the saints is gone. Just losing to the Giants isn't the reason. Losing when every single facet of your team implodes on prime-time will. Noone is going to care about what we did against the saints. Cam imploded. Joe Adams imploded. The Defense imploded. You can't find one thing to point to and say "at least we did that right." The coaching will be questioned. "Cam is overrated" will be discussed until next game and right now he looks the part. Right now we have nothing ESPN, NFLN, etc will give us credit for.

Yeah, but the pendulum will swing back in the other direction if we beat the Falcons. We will be the "tale of two teams". Of course, If we can't handle Ramses, Victor and Martellus, it doesn't look too optimistic for our ability to handle Roddy, Julio and Tony.

We need a fuggin pass rush - that's what we need. Some semblance of a pass rush might have ended some NY drives instead of them chewing up clock and scoring every time. Our offense is good, but not in a hole that deep against that defense.

This......

We had no pass rush what so ever tonight. Eli had all day to stand in pocket and deliver the ball wherever he wanted.

When we won against the Saints, they still had more respect than us. After today's game, we will be around 30 in the power rankings.

    • Reveal- Until three weeks before his draft, I wanted Simmons >> Brown. I hate to say I didn't see his greatest flaw the first time, upon reviewing more clips and lucky listening to better scout. Simmons was shown not to enjoy contact/hitting. WHich is crazy given he played a joker type of LB and had tons of tacks and big plays. But it was there hidden in the slow mo and people that played the game, he didn't enjoy hitting. Given that's a huge part of defenders job, I dropped him from want/need list and lucky for everyone dbrown was there to be picked.  Seems he's found a role or lane he's comfy in and willing to do and it does fit him once you disregard his draft status. Who knows, he maybe the NB for evero this year. He can still become a legit starter.
    • Joly has the one thing our current TE groups does not, really, really good hands.  Tremble has gotten better at catching, but will never have 'natural' hands.  Evans is a blocking TE that has okay hands. A passing game threat is what we thought we were getting when drafting Sanders, but have found out otherwise.  With all the TEs we have drafted over the recent years, none of them have been considered a true weapon.  That needs to change. Blocking TEs are a dime a dozen and can be had on the cheap.  The miscalculation of the front office, folly if you will, is the idea of the Swiss Army knife TE, the guy that can do everything.  It takes a real gem to find a TE that does everything and do it well, so our jack of all trades ends up elite at nothing especially the one area where we (the fans) think the weak link is--a receiving threat.
