Embarrassed by Jerry Richardson again: He was one of the leaders to keep refs locked out

What is horrible about the Brown's fanbase? They are top notch in following their team.

If by following you mean gathering on Sunday in a parking lot to drink 100 beers then you are correct.

Browns been around for a very long time man, and NE Ohio is the birthplace of the NFL, so you'd expect them to have a long history of fans.

The point of my story was that the Brown fans laughed at me because I was complaining about not making the playoffs in four years and they pull for a team that hasn't made the playoffs in 15 years.

well i don't believe in the terms luck or karma but i will say greedy people will get their return of value. There will be no superbowl for carolina with this guy here!... how about a GM lockout?....its cool the panthers have fans and the majority here are real fans of the team but the reality is this greed will never bring what the fans really want, only continued crushed hopes! ive been a fan of the panthers but it is now clear to me that the top of the chain is the real issue for us. shame on him as we have had much wasted talent here and prefer a cheap hamburger of underrated players rather than a steak of proven athletes. Someone needs to pull his card as it was done for our coaches!

Oh Karma is real

And we're feeling the wrath of it unfortunately

I like Jerry a lot for a lot of reasons, but this was a stupid decision if he wanted to keep going.

you're amking the assumption that it was the owners fault that the refs weren't accepting what they offered and were stuck on this idea t that they, as part time workers, should be getting a pension. THAT was what the hold up was.

once they backed off that, a deal could be made.

It's not pretty. And I already said I don't give a poo about Forbes, or the money the team makes. We are one of the worst NFL, read again, NFL teams ever.

ON THE FIELD PRODUCTION.

EDIT:The table didn't format right but - http://mcubed.net/nfl/fwtot.shtml

Sure we have a better win % than the browns, what a standard!

At least we're not the Texans :)

When are people going to realize that WE ARE THE BROWNS? We're Browns South, baby.

LOL. Browns fans are still celebrating Art Modell's death as we speak. Very classy fan base.

Good buddy of mine went to the Browns/Panthers game in Cleveland a couple seasons ago and what he described to me that took place at the tailgate and inside the stadium would never, ever happen at a panther game.

Al Davis of the NFC

We should be so lucky.

JR is the old Al Davis without all the Super Bowl rings or the legacy.

The Raiders were the winningest professional sports franchise in the USA by percentage after Al Davis had managed / owned them for twenty years. The Raiders had also won three Superbowls by that point. He was also a head coach and Commissioner of the AFL.

I appreciate what JR has done, but he is no Al Davis.

32 teams worth a billion plus a piece can pay a couple pensions and somehow avoid bankruptcy. Saying that saving what basically amounts to a couple rookie contracts worth of money is worth completly pissing on the integrity of the league is, in my opinion, a stupid stance by any owner.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
