The Next Peyton Manning

White was project in the NFL I even sad so back then. He needed 3 years as a backup to be a good QB in the NFL. Unfortuntly he didnt get that chance, Smith is NFL ready once the season is over he will just need to add a little more muscle but thats it. He is a football junky. He can make all the throws and has mentality to make the come from behind wins. He will be the first QB drafted in next year draft. Maybe even the #1 pick.

Limited field vision — does not process the passing game. Inconsistent throwing mechanics with a flick delivery — generates all of his power from his upper-body strength and too often arms the ball. Streaky passer with spotty accuracy. Makes his receivers work hard and throws into coverage. Does not spin a tight spiral. Very disingenuous — has a fake smile, comes off as very scripted and has a selfish, me-first makeup. Always knows where the cameras are and plays to them. Has an enormous ego with a sense of entitlement that continually invites trouble and makes him believe he is above the law — does not command respect from teammates and always will struggle to win a locker room. Only a one-year producer. Lacks accountability, focus and trustworthiness — is not punctual, seeks shortcuts and sets a bad example. Immature and has had issues with authority. Not dependable.

Amidoinitright?

Waaaay better as a passer than Pat White ever even thought about being.

Definitely not the kind of 'run-first' QB that WVU produced for years under Rich Rodruigez.

Smartest QB to come out of WVU since Oliver Luck.

Prototype NFL size.

Pretty well impeccable character.

I think this kid will be a star, but the college season isn't over just yet and they face Texas this week.

    • Well hold on let's pause for a second and establish some things first since we're on the subject of "cop outs with no room for nuance". Our own QB has 37 games under his belt. Many of them are either subpar or just plain bad. We only just this past Sunday won our 2nd road game in his career. But months and months of contentious discussion since his rookie season has largely resulted in the oft used argument that Bryce Young's struggles were due to the coaching and players around him and ultimately he couldn't be blamed But now apparently it seems like you folks have fully tossed that out and are actively blaming Stroud while wholly omitting contributing circumstances around him. So which is one it????? As far as Brees. Look I've got to be direct here. I cannot stand that guy. But I would have to concede that he had a significantly better arm than Bryce Young. I mean it's not even close. Plus as much as it annoys me to say it's clear Drew Brees wasn't afraid to hit the weight room either. And Baker has obviously always had arm talent that showed on the tape even when he was struggling or being a tool. Acknowledging all of this is the first step in gaining a firm footing in reality with the rest of us.
    • I know one thing. I would have Horn active this week. If he gets behind the defense Andy will get that ball down there.
    • I think if we were 2-5 right now and finished 6-11 then that would be more understandable. But at this point.. 4-3 entering week 8. They have to at least finish 7-10 or it’s going to look like they fell apart. Finishing 7-10 still means we go 3-7 down the stretch.
