The texans drafted David Carr before they had a line. THe 49ers brought in Alex Smith when they could not protect him. There are many who were ruined by putting the cart before the horses. We need a LT (Gross is getting dawged--maybe time for RT) and a RG.

We need a #1 WR. Smitty has been good, but he is a slot WR now.

We need a FS and, in my opinion, a SS.

We need a DT,

We need a CB

Starting to wonder if we need a coach.

That's funny I stopped reading when he said ACC QB.

Coming from someone who actually believes an ACC QB can push Cam, that is funny.

Dude, Geno has had some good games. But then again, tons of college QBs have good seasons. That is no indication of his ability to push Cam.

I understand your homerism. Just don't expect anyone to follow it. It is a silly idea, made by a hapless homer.

Geno plays on the bigXII and right now he is on breaking more records then any qb before him. If you have seen him play you would know he makes every throw and is calm under pressure.

But I will repeat what I said a couple of times in this thread. This was worse case scenerio. In which Cam doesn't improve this season.

Drafting Geno would be the worse case scenario. Seriously.

Sorry, I forgot the ACC got rid of WVU. Big 12 is so much better for your arguement.

This young team needs help getting over the hump. Drafting a QB would not help. Even a QB that is setting records. Do they have records for half a season?

You want to help Cam? Get him a Defense. Or get him an OC willing to run a big boy offense. But, drafting another QB to push him? Not going to help Cam or the team.

didn't fox fix a 1-15 team in 2 seasons?

It only took an all pro defense, two all pro wide receivers plus Ricky Proehl, an all pro running back, and an all pro quarterback. How did he ever do it?

If we are using one example to make points can I say that the genius Bill Belichek didn't fix the Browns in 2 seasons.

Cam Newton had NO OL help against Tampa Bay.. he completed 70% for 300 yards despite people in his face. That kind of pressure makes Brady look like a choir boy walking past a priest...

I think we'll be alright with Cam.. lol

Chud and this fuging read-option? now that's a problem worth talking about...

So I have been pondering this question all week. Let's say Cam keeps regressing and the panthers drop the spread option and no improvement. We get the #1 pick this offseason do we take Geno smith or not. Cam will be entering his 3rd year of a 4 year contract next season. Do you take the risk they he will get better next year with no backup plan? Or do you take geno and let him learn a year and to see if cam improves?

I don't think Cam has regressed.

He is basically the exact same guy as last year.....

Chud went to more 3 WR sets and less 2 TE sets and also has gone overboard on the read option looks. Chud hasn adjusted to make his scheme work again.

If Cam had regressed it would show more in his comp% and Yard per pass

    • They said there wasn't clear evidence to warrant the overturn.  How would it have made a difference at that point in the game?   https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfl-privately-admitted-to-erroneous-reversal-of-catch-by-panthers
    • Me, I'm sick of WWE channel hopping their PLEs and shows. Netflix now with Raw. USA still has Smackdown but you can't get it with Roku if you don't also have cable. Then they went from all the PLEs on Peacock to ESPN+ which required upgrading your Disney+ package. Then they frikkin' move Saturday Night Main Event with John Cena's retirement match back over to frikkin' Peacock, which we'd just cancelled two months prior because no PLEs there anymore. And there are fewer, but longer matches and its the same danged stories again and again. Rematch after rematch after rematch between PLEs. Fewer matches, fewer wrestlers, more promos (of lesser quality) and less action.  It just seems like it's all fillers and re-runs. I'm tired of Cody Rhodes. I'm tired of Jey Uso. I'm tired of the two Brons. Shuffle the deck a bit guys, this game's getting stale.
    • Chuba was 3 yards behind the 3 gap. He was lined up weak offset I. It was a 33 dive. Chuba needed to power through off of Ekwonu's block and slip off into the 5 gap where the Tremble had the lane sealed and Rick pulled the LB out of the 5 gap. Here's a visual if you need proof. Chuba did a jump cut laterally to the 2 gap on the right side with unblocked defenders crashing down and went airborne.   This is a 33 dive that should have been slipped off the block into the 5 gap. Chuba lacked vision, but you can see Rico and Bryce staring at the intended running lane sealed off by Tremble and Ekwonu. He should have read Ekwonu's block. The blocking and misdirection is NOT set up for the right side. The play worked. Chuba failed to execute on this play. Trust who you want to, but I wouldn't suggest you argue with the video. Anyone telling you this was drawn up to go right with the blocking did not analyze it. They are correct it should have been a called dive, and it was a called dive.  This was a weak offset I bringing Tremble in motion from the right to the left.
