Coaching/QB Observations

Wow. I watch the same TV and I've seen Rivera congratulate a good play or say something to a player having a hard time or that just made a mistake. Unstick your minds. Are you the same posters that were complaining about John Fox clapping???? I don't pay attention to the coaches when I'm at the games.

Better handling of timeouts and challenges would be nice but I think that'll come with time.

Now, I have seldom seen Cam approach another player after coming to the sideline to talk about anything except to celebrate when we're winning. Even when I'm at the games.

Anyone ever notice every QB will come to sidelines and start reviewing photos of every play to figure what the other team is doing to defend him and how to counter it and will usually conference with OC, yet Newton just chills with a towel on his head when he's not on the field? Does that mean someone else is reviewing the plays bc he is not trusted to do so or doesn't understand how decipher it yet? Is that an issue that possibly he has very little say so in offense?

Cam is always talking to Shula on the sidelines....hard to talk with chud when he sits up in the press box

Marguide I think that criticism is fair though maybe it's not entirely Cam's fault. I don't think he's being coached very well.

Maybe he is and maybe not. It's hard to know without being on the bench. My point though is I have seen him reviewing plays with Shula just about every game.

It wasn't criticism, it was an observation. I've watched 4 games this season and the only difference was after all the negative press about Cam supposedly separating himself, he was standing up with guys between drives as opposed to sitting on bench. The point was almost every QB comes in after a drive and gets handed the pictures showing the defensive alignments and usually the backup QB or OC is there looking at them with him. Every game so far, every time they show Cam, he is just watching game. That's not a dig at him, it's just an observation, the title of this thread. So I was wondering if this is because someone else, like the OC up in box is reviewing those instead of Cam? Speculating further, does this leave a little disconnect between Cam and OC and hurt the end product? Does this show a lack of input from Cam into what's going on with offense and thus could that be holding him back and maybe part of Cams frustration?

I'm pretty sure the first thing they do after an offensive series is review the photos. I have seen Shula do it many times with Cam, though I can't remember the last time the cameras happened to catch it. Again, it's hard to say exactly what's going on without being on the bench.

As to a disconnect between Cam and Chud, it seems it would be a good idea if those two at least talked on the field phones during games, and that's something I've never seen happen.

Bellicheck isn't the most animated guy. I want a guy who will have our players prepared for all situations. I want a team that isn't afraid to let go of guys who serve no purpose on our roster. I just want to win. The way acts on the sideline is being overblown. My concern with Ron is the team doesn't seem prepared, time management sucks and has no one on the staff has head coaching exp. to help him.
