Is the Read Option Destroying our Runningbacks?

that's because they don't have an extra te.

I was so happy last year that we finally had an OC and HC that realized TEs could be used more than just as another offensive tackle to help block for running and passing plays.

Somethings must be in the water at Panther facilities because after one season they already went full dumb fug on us.

The read option may limit a runningbacks options but its added to the QBs responsibility to make the right read/option..

With that said, they have opted out of using an extra TE that worked so well last year.

This is huge. Not so much Shockey himself but what the 2 TE set allowed.

Video is at the top of this article, take a look, they also talk about Keek and the 30 yards deep safeties:

Baldy is on point and illustrates it so well. DeAngelo essentially doesn't get to use his vision anymore and Cam is the one deciding where he goes.

It doesn't help anyone. Cam's rhythm is bad, the runningbacks don't get to run and the offensive line is blocking for runs that go opposite directions. The option has to fool defenses. Why not just run them over?
