For once I don't disagree with Warren Moon. Good read

I won't read anything else pertaining to Warren Moon. I think he's one of the most racist pro athletes of all time. He never comments on white QB's... Only black one... And he's always pulling the race card. No respect for people living in the past

Maybe if you would read it you would see he comments on numerous white QB's in both good and bad ways.

For whatever you think of Newton (and I'd agree there are things he needs to work on) the notion that he got Marty Hurney fired is one I find utterly silly.

Marty Hurney got Marty Hurney fired, and that process started long before Newton ever got here.

I'll go one step further. I think Cam's play last year actually bought Hurney another year.

Spot on. This guy is about as racist as it comes. Anyone thinking Cams criticisms are Race motivated are racists themselves and flat out fuging morons.

It is pathetic in this day and time you cant call a moronic QB what he is without some clowns screaming race. It doesn't matter he is black, it matters he is an option QB without the mindset to be able to read NFL Defenses. It has NOTHING to do with race. There are many whites that were even worse than Cam is.

part worth reading...

"The big thing with him is he doesn't like losing," Moon said Monday. "He doesn't handle it very well. I don't see anything wrong with that; it's OK not to like losing. You just can't show it as the leader of the football team.

"You have to project optimism and calmness to the players around you. You can't be demoralized. He's not showing optimism. He's looking puzzled. He looks like a guy who doesn't have all the answers, and his teammates see that."

In fact Moon, who helped prepare Newton before the Panthers selected him with the first overall pick of the 2011 NFL draft, would like to see Newton emulate the young quarterback he's currently mentoring: Seattle Seahawks rookie Russell Wilson.

"You wouldn't know if we won or lost when you listen to him talk after a game," Moon said of Wilson. "That's what you want.

Listen to Tom Brady or Peyton Manning after a game. They keep everything even-keeled. They never get too high or too low.

"Cam's an emotional player. He needs to learn to saddle that. If I was to talk to him – and I need to give him a call – I would tell him his demeanor's got to change in the face of adversity. It's more of a maturity thing; he's got to grow up in this area. He's got to get realistic that they're not a good football team right now and it's going to be tough to win as much as he thinks he should, until they get some more good players."

i can't disagree with him.

he doesn't have to like it, but he does have to be more in control of how he externally deals with it, esp. realizing that this is becoming his team and regardless of whether he has a 'C' on his jersey or not...the other players are going to be looking at him to and following his lead.

newton has one of the most infectious personalities i've ever seen. whether he wants it or not, he effects people's emotional levels and has control over how people act/react. if people see him fired up...they are going to get fired up. if he's feeling like a conqueror, they are going to feel and act like it as well. if he feels defeated, tho, and lets mistakes bring him down, then he's going to bring others around him down as well.

he's got to become that guy he was at auburn that brought his team back from massive deficits against immense odds. he's got to be that guy in the lockerroom and on the sidelines that gets his teammates going.

that might be too much for him to handle right now, but until he can control what he does and can become that guy at auburn...we're going to be seeing pretty much the same results and i don't think it will really matter who is is that is coaching or calling the plays, either.

    • They said there wasn't clear evidence to warrant the overturn.  How would it have made a difference at that point in the game?   https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfl-privately-admitted-to-erroneous-reversal-of-catch-by-panthers
    • Me, I'm sick of WWE channel hopping their PLEs and shows. Netflix now with Raw. USA still has Smackdown but you can't get it with Roku if you don't also have cable. Then they went from all the PLEs on Peacock to ESPN+ which required upgrading your Disney+ package. Then they frikkin' move Saturday Night Main Event with John Cena's retirement match back over to frikkin' Peacock, which we'd just cancelled two months prior because no PLEs there anymore. And there are fewer, but longer matches and its the same danged stories again and again. Rematch after rematch after rematch between PLEs. Fewer matches, fewer wrestlers, more promos (of lesser quality) and less action.  It just seems like it's all fillers and re-runs. I'm tired of Cody Rhodes. I'm tired of Jey Uso. I'm tired of the two Brons. Shuffle the deck a bit guys, this game's getting stale.
    • Chuba was 3 yards behind the 3 gap. He was lined up weak offset I. It was a 33 dive. Chuba needed to power through off of Ekwonu's block and slip off into the 5 gap where the Tremble had the lane sealed and Rick pulled the LB out of the 5 gap. Here's a visual if you need proof. Chuba did a jump cut laterally to the 2 gap on the right side with unblocked defenders crashing down and went airborne.   This is a 33 dive that should have been slipped off the block into the 5 gap. Chuba lacked vision, but you can see Rico and Bryce staring at the intended running lane sealed off by Tremble and Ekwonu. He should have read Ekwonu's block. The blocking and misdirection is NOT set up for the right side. The play worked. Chuba failed to execute on this play. Trust who you want to, but I wouldn't suggest you argue with the video. Anyone telling you this was drawn up to go right with the blocking did not analyze it. They are correct it should have been a called dive, and it was a called dive.  This was a weak offset I bringing Tremble in motion from the right to the left.
