Citing a team source, the Charlotte Observer reports that at least one playoff-contending team has reached out to the Panthers about the availability of DeAngelo Williams ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.A logical landing spot might be Denver, where Williams has history with coach John Fox and offensive playcaller Mike McCoy. The Broncos aren't necessarily in need of a running back, but Williams is available and could improve the depth of Denver's backfield depth chart. The Panthers would likely also love to shed Williams' contract. Williams' role has dwindled since GM Marty Hurney's ouster. We suspect he could be had for a mid- to late-round pick.
