Chris Benoit

Awesomeness!!

Recommended Posts

A couple years ago WWE star Chris Benoit off himself, wife and kid. I think this was mid 2006. WWE has not mentioned his name in a broadcast since. They have all but erased him from history. Unless this guy was mentally ill (concussions?) I dont want to hear about how tragic this is. I just hope his life insurance coved suicide, so they can bury his girl, andfeed his baby. Go Panthers.

Chris Benoit was abusing steroids and viciously killed his wife, child, then himself. Of course they aren't.

Life insurance usually never covers suicide if I'm mistaken. His 3 month old baby died. The only thing that could be attributed would be a problem of undiagnosed concussions or undiagnosed mental disorder.

The NFL would never admit to the former unless an autopsy proves beyond a shadow of a doubt he suffered severe head trauma. Even so, most football players brains exhibit that trauma

There is a chance he just lost his temper. Mental stability usually ends up being a cop out. He couldn't caught here with someone else, stealing, etc...anything then acted irrationally. Too many things can contribute to a sad event like this before I would go to his mental well-being.

Most life policies have a suicide clause....often 2 yrs. Means it wouldn't pay if a suicide was the cause of death within the first 2 yrs it was taken out.....after that it generally is covered by many policies.

Friends on the insurance policy as to whether they pay. Many will cover it once the policy has been in effect for a year or two.....mine is this way after one year

I was literally just thinking about this the other day.

IIRC, the Monday night show was COMPLETELY dedicated to Benoit, his career, and other wrestlers literally crying and commenting on how sad they were. All of this was done before any of the details of the death were made public.

The ugly gruesome details were released, and I imagine more than one person felt totally fooled for dedicating the show to him and crying over his death, which I am sure they thought was a homicide or robbery gone wrong.

BY THE WAY, his fellow teammates of the Chiefs are putting a fund together to help take care of his kid.

I am currently getting my PhD in Neuropsychology specifically focusing on TBI. I can verify that numerous impacts to the head have a very severe impact on psychopathology. The amount of depression/anxiety and other forms of severe psychopathology and personality change are highly correlated with head injuries.

There is no doubt in my mind that these individuals were suffering from conditions directly linked to their occupation.

    • Good, our ST is almost as bad as our ILB depth!
    • With two starters on expiring contracts (Moton + Corbett) as well as a few back-ups (Christensen, Mays, and Nijman), the Panthers are likely going to have to reinvest in the OL after this coming season. Icky's fifth-year option was picked up by the team this offseason while Lewis and Hunt both remain under contract then (though Lewis' deal is set-up in a way that would let Carolina move on from him then as well). I think that the team is going to be looking at investing a premium pick at RT should Bryce's development continue, and might even look to double dip at the position in order to have a swing tackle that can also kick inside when needed. There's also the question of starting center... Prospects I'm watching this upcoming college season... Centers Jake Slaughter (Florida) Iapani Laloulu (Oregon) Connor Lew (Auburn) Logan Jones (Iowa) Parker Brailsford (Alabama) Connor Tollison (Missouri) Bryce Foster (Kentucky) Pat Coogan Notre Dame) Raheem Anderson (Michigan) Carson Hinzman (Ohio State) RTs Francis Mauigoa (Miami) Kadyn Proctor (Alabama) Spencer Fano (Utah) Gennings Dunker (Iowa) Blake Miller (Clemson) Isaiah World (Oregon) Caleb Tiernan (Northwestern) Monroe Feeling (Georgia) Earnest Greene III (Georgia) Monroe Mills (Louisville) Charles Jagusah (Notre Dame) Tree Babalade (South Carolina) Trey Zuhn III (Texas A&M) Nolan Rucci (Penn State) Tristan Leigh (Clemson) Fernando Carmona (Arkansas) JC Davis (Illinois) Riley Mahlman (Wisconsin) PJ Williams (SMU) Tosh Baker (Notre Dame) Aki Ogunbiyi (Texas A&M) Courtland Ford (Kentucky) Ethan Onianwa (Rice)
    • I watched documentary on the 2010 Auburn season and Cam wasn’t included in that either. I think he just doesn’t care for these things
