Gross

Lumps

Recommended Posts

Gross got abused in the KC game. What do you guys think as far as his future here is? I really think we need to cut ties and his salary is just the cherry on top, but even if he restructured or wasn't paid as much is he pretty much out of here? Or will he stay around for another year just to be a vet for a newbie we get. He seems to be going downhill quick and he is 32 (?).

I am fine with restructuring not cutting; he is still above average to me (and one of the team leaders which we have very little of). it is very hard to find a top LT especially since we might not be picking in the top 3 this year look at the eagles, redskins, cowboys, Chicago they are still looking for a LT. i say leave him on a restructured deal for now and fix other glaring holes

Cut. Him and Gamble are probably gone, which sucks because they are such long tenured vets. Gross' play doesn't warrant all of that money, and Gamble's absence hasn't really affected our CB play too drastically, meaning his $ will be better spent elsewhere. It sucks, but it's the nature of the beast.

The problem with all this is Gross' play this season has shown LT is a GLARING hole....

He's probably going to be a cap casualty, but I think he's still the best guy on our line except for Ryan. LT is always going against the best edge rusher so even though he looks worse than anyone he's also getting the hardest matchup. The main problem is that we paid him way too much money like everyone else. All our problems start up top

I think that this could have been included in the other 6 threads about what vets might get cut during the upcoming offseason.....that is what I think.

Restructure the contract don't cut him. Who is going to protect the blind side than? He isn't top notch anymore but he's not garage. We have to restructure so the money is fair and keep him another year or two while we search for a good replacement.

You mean the thread about cutting 6 guys, because I don't see 6 threads on cutting players, I see two and one is defensive. And those threads get sidetracked. I do see threads debating a plyers Japanese name and another debating Luke's sexiness, maybe you should post in those. Gross is bit different for fans than say Norman. Gross is the reason Cam is hurries a lot of the times, which is a bit different than what we are used to seeing. LT is the most important position on the Oline, and arguable on the offense period (besides QB).

But I get it, you have nothing better to do, I am in a waiting room so neither do I.

    • Bryce Young has recorded 4 game-winning drives through nine weeks, leading the Carolina Panthers to crucial victories in tight contests. The 12-play, 58-yard clock-killer versus the Packers in Week 9 (16-13 upset). This pace positions him as the team's most clutch performer in years, with a 68.4% success rate on go-ahead drivesalready surpassing many franchise benchmarks early in his career.   Young's early 2025 surge (top-5 league-wide in clutch EPA at 0.28 per dropback) not only outstrips the debuts of Newton (2 in 2011) and Delhomme (1 in 2003) but hints at him climbing this list quickly if the Panthers sustain their wildcard hunt. Data underscores his growth: no other Panther QB hit 4 GWDs before Week 10 in a season.   The energy fans pour into the stadium directly shapes Bryce Young’s performance positive support has been shown to elevate his fourth-quarter efficiency by 12%, strengthening team cohesion and execution under pressure. Criticizing or booing the starting quarterback fractures morale, disrupts focus, and undermines the very resilience needed in clutch moments. When fans stand firmly behind their QB and team, they become a true home-field advantage, amplifying performance and accelerating the path to sustained success. Now are you a Carolina Panther fan or a Panther hater?
    • Bryce would have extended some plays scrambling with his legs but then again he also has a high number of fumbles so you never know what you're going to get and the way the Bills were getting after Andy (sacked 7 times) it stands to reason Bryce would have been under duress often. What exactly do you want here? I mean I'm going to go by the gameplan I saw after Bryce turned the ball over against GB. Clearly Dave Canales was deliberately trying to limit the opportunities for him to make a catastrophic mistake. And didn't Micah Parsons log zero QB pressures? So with that in mind if you are asking for anyone to argue our offense with Bryce would have had much if any success against that opportunistic motivated Bills defense while we were also splitting carries between Rico and Chuba who had the majority of them which ended up being a situation resulting in a weeks worth of scathing criticism and deservedly so then I'm going to just have to say we can agree to disagree.
