Cam has taken the next step

What I love is even though he is playing "smarter" in those pressure situations, he still stays aggressive. It would have been easy to throw it short of the goal line on that last drive after that penalty, but he just kept plugging at the endzone. Now, that one to Smitty where he had Lafell, his aggression may have gotten the best of him and wanting to put the game on ice with another TD, but I'm OK with that. As long as he can maintain this play and continuously improve some facet of his game, we will be set for years to come.

This is a side note...i'm reading this thread and I look up to see the football score. Verizon has a Microsoft HTC 8x commercial on..Who should be one of the pictures in the phone, none other than your QB. I literally had to take a double take tomake sure. too funny.

Didn't know Cam had a Microsoft HTC deal...Low and below, yes he does...http://wmpoweruser.com/microsoft-gets-cam-newton-on-board-for-htc-8x-promotion/

There is a huge difference over the last 6 games. It's so obvious. Everytime he is rushed he now checks down. he knows when it's coming and knows how to get rid of the ball. He's been playing like a top 10 QB for several weeks now.

Was just thinking the same thing. Looks like the game slowed down for him again.

I don't think the game ever "slowed" down for him last year, he was just reacting to what he saw. The first couple of games he was indecisive this year and it lead to mistakes, but now the game is finally slowing down for him.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
