I thought I was going to hate Radagast - but I liked him. Also glad they didn't give Gwaihir a speaking role - that would not have worked on screen whatsoever.

I haven't seen 2D - but the 3D was fantastic and not at all distracting. Azog was necessary (especially for Thorin's scene at the end) but seemed misused at other times,

My 10 yr old is about to finish the book and I'm taking her over Christmas to see. Kid has read all the Potter books and keeps me in check grammatically and phonetically.

Saw it last night in IMAX 3D and loved it.

The first time I read The Hobbit was probably 35 years ago and this film took me back to those times of absolute wonder and excitement. Peter Jackson has once again done a fantastic job of representing the source material. While its not dead on word for word an adaptation of the book, it is a very faithful adaptation of the spirit of the story.

I will see it again before the New Year.

I only saw it in 2D. I think I might go again with my fam in IMAX up in Connecticut. And I didn't read the book, so I wasn't "let down" at all in that sense.

And whoever bagged on THG, I totally agree. For such a brilliant premise, they really screwed that movie up. Yet the fan girls and critics liked it for some reason. Whatever, let's just hope they pull through on that US version of Battle Royale.

Saw it tonight. It wasn't as good as Lord of the Rings, but then neither was the book. But it was certainly entertaining.
