The writing was on the wall about Jake's arm and confidence though. I was just in denial until we got massacred by Kurt Warner...The raiders game, the packers game where he threw hand grenades that Smitty somehow was catching, same thing with the Saints game in the season finale...I thought we were gonna blow out the cards...smh

Yeah, that was a funny game to be at. People were losing their poo. We got back to the parking lot afterwards and decided to just grill and drink (in a mild rain) while the parking lot emptied out, and man people went bananas.

One guy in a truck kept honking at the car in front of him and when the dude didn't move, he got out of his truck and started smashing beer bottles and pointing at the car.

Another dude got out of his car and hibachi high kicked the back driver side window out of the car in front of him. The car in front gets to the main road, flags down a cop, and then everybody involved got arrested for DWI.

Then we sold like 20 hot dogs for a buck a piece, making back a fraction of what we spent on the tickets.

The gravel parking lot afterwards: way more entertaining than the game.

was there

i was a broke college student who had starved for a month to scrape together $160 for my ticket

also at least partially why i don't buy the "john fox always had his teams locked and loaded and ready to play" bullshit that gets slung around here

I think Fox was a good coach, but he was as vulnerable to a letdown game as anyone in NFL history while he was here.

I've never seen one game so negatively affect a franchise before. Things were looking so good before then.

Jake and the team couldn't get their mojo back a year later. Fox becomes a lame duck coach with Pickles soon after. We get Cam and Rivera with mediocre but promising results. Try again a year later without doing much better.

Now we got a highly touted GM and Chico in a contract year...do or die.

I hope someday I can forget about that game...but it's hard to overlook the affects it still has today.

The most devastating loss I've ever experienced as a Panther fan. With the SB loss there was still hope for the next few seasons. After the AZ disaster there was simply no hope that the next season would go well. Everyone was worried that Jake's career was on a steep decline, and then the Eagles game the following season confirmed what we already knew. It was over, and we didn't have a good QB groomed and ready to take over as the starter. Stay fired Hurney. We still have not recovered.

i even hung around until the very last second of the game. i was one of maybe four people in my section still sitting around in the rain.

the weirdest part was the two cardinals fans who had actually flown in from arizona sitting in front of me leaving early when the game became a massacre. i mean what the hell-something like that is a once in a lifetime thing and i'd be out there bathing in it.
