What happens to Cam Newton now that Chud is gone?

build plays that fit his skill set, but don't abuse them. Cam isn't a dink and dunk passer, although he could eventually be. Heavy running plays, mixed with play action vertical pass attacks (hopefully our o-line will be much improved after the draft.) Some read option SPRINKLED in.

I agree completely. I am curious to see if we had a legitimate blocking/catching tight end like Shockey how that two tight end set would help the running attack and passing attack. It just seemed like things were wide open in 2011. I know teams had a full offseason to prepare but we didn't run those sets this year.

For context, I meant competent as in someone who is good at their job, as opposed to the Chudster.

i know but the names that i am hearing thrown around are all guys that would be ok, but nothing special. i see average and i don't care who we have at QB, average at OC just isn't gonna cut it.

i see norv being the top candidate and I'm not happy about that because i don't see him as some forward thinking guy who would incorporate cam's rushing skills. i see too many people only too happy to turn cam into just some pocket passing game manager cause they're afraid of getting him hurt when he's in more danger not running. people seem fine leaving points on the table just so cam can play in a more conservative nonspread offense and I'm afraid that the new OC will feel the same way. they don't want cam to be the threat he can be.

i had very little confidence in a rivera led team and I've got even less now.

You would think that some smart former/current/potential OCs would be knocking on our door begging for an interview, realizing that they could really do some good work and improve their reputation/stock with a dynamic tool like Cam at their disposal.

We don't know who will be interested yet...the Chud hiring in Cleveland kind of came out of left field and the Panthers OC position has been available for about 12 hours.
