Injured my foot.

Floppin

Recommended Posts

Playing flag football today. I don't know when it happened exactly, but it first started hurting about an hour after we stopped play. Now I can barely walk on it. It's extremely sore on the instep side of my arch and runs through my foot to the topside of my foot around my pinky toe.

That's probably not a very good explanation, but any amateur podiatrists out there that have any idea what I might have done to myself?

i've done that in various modes of action and it's not fun. pop some ibuprofen, any swelling will go away. you probably strained a tendon like KG said, possibly lightly sprained the joint and didn't realize it until later

rest it for a day and you'll be fine

It feels better this morning, just a little sore. It's amazing but I've never hurt my foot in all my years of sports. I played four years of three different sports through HS, boxed for 5 years and was a competitive downhill skier and big air snowboarder and instructor for 12 years. Never hurt my foot.

I did something to my foot playing tackle football a few years back. It bent under me and i heard a loud pop. I was sure i was going to look down and see bone jamming out of my shoe. It didnt hurt at the time but an hour later it was swollen and i couldnt walk. Took some ib and iced it and it went away in a few days. You, should be good.

Well I thought it was feeling better but I just walked my dogs and it definitely still hurts like a bitch. I'm sure I'll be fine, it just sucks, I've never hurt my foot. I feel like a vagina.

foot injuries are the worst. i mean there's a reason why athletes can play through tweaked ankles/knees but need a cortisone shot to play through turf toe.

i had sesamoiditis when i was a teenager (pea-sized bones in the ball of your foot get irritated and heal extremely slowly) and it was the most painful injury/condition i've ever had.

    • It's a good start but Ian Thomas was going to have a breakout season every offseaon and didn't ever do squat. Prove it. And I hope he does. Last year and UDFA out played the guy they drafted after trading I to the first. Anything could happen and this team might desperately need him...even if they don't know it yet.
    • Dude outplayed last years # 1 pick so let's ship him off because other guys look good in preseason...way too premature. At least wait a few games into the season to see what reality looks like. Renfrow could go down or disappear while Croker has had more recent success with this team. Hell XL is my ship off guy and that is premature. Different ceilings but Im taking the guy with hands and hunger vs thr project without hands everytime at WR.  Also let the D cook. They spent a lot on that unit this offseason and the DC has to prove he isn't a dud this year. No need to panic and this is what they chose to do to help a historically bad D. Let them prove it or GTFO. (No one is expecting a top rated D but it has to improve and the guys they brought in can't fall flat again)
    • well....   if ATL/NO/TB are playing each other, we'll hope for the team that wins will help our own standings in the division.  It's not exactly cheering FOR someone as much as it's cheering AGAINST another
