Cam Newton is key in Mike Shula’s promotion with Carolina Panthers

I find it so ironic, that JR didn't have the guts to pull the trigger on Rivera. Then Rivera didn't have the guts to Pull The Trigger on Chud. So Chud leaves, and ends up with a better staff than Rivera (though he still has the sucky Cleveland Offensive players), while Rivera is the one scrambling around trying to find a competent staff, and having to defend it (well at least on the internet, and with some of the press).

Maybe if Rivera would have fired Chud first/when he was supposed to, he could have had Norv Turner first, and Chud probably doesn't even get the Cleveland HC job? And even if Chud did, Rivera would have already had Norv and his son locked up anyway/already. SMH

Say what you want about how Rivera or Shula may turn out in 2013 (we're hoping for the best, obvioiusly). But you have to admit, that neither JR or Rivera, come off as the sharpest knives or brightest bulbs in the hardware store, this off season. I'm sorry.

Once again, Cam is going to have to carry this team to legitimacy (regardless of it's missing, glaring or broken parts).

I just hope that two years of watching this offense succeed and fail, has taught Shula what works and what plays to call during a game. But of course, that is the unknown. It takes feel, intuition, forward thinking and sometime cajones to call a game, followed up by a solid game plan leading up to it, during the week. It's the lab, followed by field work.

Good Luck Coach Shula.

I find ironic that you think most of your post is factual.

as long as his playcalling isn't autistic i think he'll work ok

which is the hallmark of the panthers, unfortunately... "he'll work ok"

it's not autistic playcalling I'm worried about. it's cam having to wait forever to get a play call that would have been the right call for the play earlier. slow head scratcher calls.
