Awesomeness!!

This is like the 4th thread that has turned into an anthropological debate in the past week.

Yeah, I believe there are forums where you can be crazy and rascist if you want to, but I suppose that people want to shoehorn it in with a football topic so that they can combine the only two thoughts they had all day and be done with it.

You did do a fine job trying to save it sir, bringing in the universally beloved Morgan Freeman.

Its just funny how people say "heyyy there isn no racist, stop whining" and then turn around and say "Its not my fault (insert group here) are too dumb to perform (insert task here) when all of the evidence is to the contrary.

If that's the case you kinda picked a bad example in Caldwell when he went 2-14 without manning so it's not my fault black Jim Caldwell is not good enough to perform as a HC is true. Andy Reid was with the eagles for 14 years and had winning seasons in 9 of those making it to the Super Bowl once. He has a far better resume then Caldwell and you only want to look at Reid's last two seasons when one of those said seasons he lost his son a few weeks before the season even starts. You picked to wrong examples and its just killing your whole point. Should hue Jackson or ray Horton have a job at least somewhere doing something? Yes. But was them not getting hired racially motivated? No.

When the NFL gets a black owner, and everybody he hires is black, the football world will explode. Everyone will cry."reverse racism" and call for boycotts, and you know what,.rightfully so. The best man should get the job. But where is Hue Jackson? Look at his resume. What kills me is that anytime someone asks "why" they are playing the race card. Playing the race card is insisiting you were pulled over for speeding because you were black, in Atlanta. Questioning the hiring practices of NFL teams isnt.

Kind if like Bob Johnson did with the Cats...public ally said he was going to do it as well. And we see how that worked our.

Hiring someone because of their race is bad business. Hire the best candidate...not the best candidate if a certain race.

alright let me take a shot at it... :gym:

caldwell did an excellent job...like george seifert(49ers coach after walsh) of taking a an already made team to the superbowl. :goodjob: i mean its not easy but it sure aint hard. now where he got unlucky is peyton choked and threw a game ending int. if caldwell wins that game he stay another year after having terrible season. now imo should he have got a chance to stay even with the lost....YESSS. :thumbsu:

but people thought peyton was the one who made the team and caldwell was not a good coach...well that might be very true but ill give you a great example of somebody defies that......

mike holmgren....yes buddy in relation to my siefert and walsh story....mike happened to be the qb coach for joe montana and steve young in the early 90's dynasty.......he won with already great qbs and looked great doing it......then the green bay packers took interest and hired him and he helped turn favre from a reckless shooter into a gunslinger....you know the rest. :thumbsu:

my point is that just because a guy has great qb does not mean hes worthless, (i also relate this to tom clements gb oc)...maybe he is doing decent job.......so to me i think caldwell should have got another year and he should got some offers this year...even though didnt become oc until the late end of the season. court adjorned. :judge:

let's be honest....any FO that won't hire a person because of their race, even if they are the most qualified person for the job is STUPID. With a must win mentality that football teams and GM's have, I don't see how it is possible to do this. I've never been in a front office, so i can't be positive, but since this game has evolved into win or your fired, i don't see how teams could pick a lesser candidate just because their the race you want

  • 2 weeks later...

Nobody really notices this until I point this out. Baltimore's offense is garbage and so is Flacco. He is the check down king. Let's Ray Rice get all the yards. Caldwell was running nothing different than what Cam Cameron did before. They hit a homerun 2-3 times a game due to their overwhelming amount of talent on offense (besides flacco). No one wants a stale Jim Caldwell.

Do uh

Do you know what a checkdown is?

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
