Honestly there's only about 4 legit players in this draft (and they will all go top 4 lol) So I wouldn't mind doing this and I'm pretty sure that we would do our best to extend Gasol's contract as soon as he got to the Charlotte

This isn't a rumor at all, this was Bonnell just throwing an idea out there. He even said that we haven't talked to L.A. about a trade.

Doubtful anything like this goes down (Lakers wouldn't do it imo), but it would definitely help the Bobcats. It wouldn't make them even an average team yet so they'd still be set for a very high draft pick, but it would help a lot combined with the draft and a pickup or 2 in free agency.

2 thoughts here.....he would have to agree to a longer contract with us, and a reasonable one. I know no one

wants to come to Charlotte, but if he could see what we're building, perhaps.

second, we're on track to get the first pick, and right now the only sure thing I see is McLemore. I'd hate to see us

start winning games and end up with the 6th pick for a guy who might play 1.5 years for us

Dont really get the point of Gasol on this roster. If the bobcats made this trade wouldnt Gasol just be on the trade block for the remainder of his contract? I cant imagine he wants to spend the remaining years of his prime on a lottery team
