Savannah

I maybe moving for a job and wanted to see what the crowd here thinks of Savannah. Living wise, I know how hit or miss it can be in the downtown area but was curious about where a good spot would be for a young professional crowd either in the city or just outside near a beach or something cool.

I've been doing my fair share of research but thought some feedback would be nice from das huddle.

yes Savannah is very nice. expect ungodly heat in the summer but the nightlife and nearby Jeckyl Island is cool.

nice. Thanks for some feedback

Looking at the rent prices, it seems like a relatively inexpensive area to rent even in its nicer spots. I'm definitely thinking like this could be my new stomping grounds for a few years or so.

The only downside I'm seeing is the distance from pro sports but I tend to do a ton of Charlotte and DC trips so it'll balance out.

I have a client in Savannah now so have been there twice. It's a really cool and artsy spot. I remember walking out of a restaurant in early December and a group of 40 somethings were just chilling in the middle of the street all with cocktails in hand. Apparently its a great walking city. And it's truly a golf all year spot too.

I think it's a great spot.

I'd like to hear why. I'm considering moving...it's not set yet.

The downtown area is extremely touristy. I mean crazy.

Rarely any breeze, and extremely hot in the summertime.

No waves.

Boating is not a huge part of the lifestyle down there.

Not nearly as many hot chicks, compared to Wilmington and Charleston.

It's in Georgia.
