After watching the Super Bowl, what position do we need to have most to win?

The ravens and niners don't have very strong DT's by any means. I'll exclude Haloti Ngata from this because he was injured most of the game. But the last 4 teams in the playoffs this year had rather average DTs.

They both have very strong pass rushers and linebackers, much like us.

They both have strong offensive lines.

They both have pretty well rounded secondaries, even with some back ups playing.

I would say the thing that separated the niners and the Ravens was the ravens receivers. When you can have a guy that can catch a deep ball and then return a kick for a TD, and two other big targets, your QB is going to look good and stay confident throughout the game.

That being said, I think that this Super Bowl has shown us that this really is a passing league now, and we need to find our selves a #1 receiver for the future. Whether it be in free agency, or more realistically the draft, it needs to be adressed if we wanna take that next step.

You don't watch the Super Bowl and make personnel decisions based off what you see. That is absurd. The only premise remotely close to this would be watching Atlanta play and drafting to beat them. The formula isn't all that complicated, acquire a large number of highly talented individuals and mold them into a team. The Raven's aren't better than the Panthers at one position, they're better at almost every position.

    • I get what youre saying but also maybe they werent targeted that much because they aren't that great.
    • It’s a weird thing to hang your hat on. Like one year he had 20+ wins and missed the NCAA tournament. Are we to believe that is a successful season? Roy Williams made 5 tourneys, had 3 ACC season championships, 2 ACC Tourney championships, 2 Final Fours, 1 NCAA Championship, then added another NCAA championship year 6. Hubert is barely making the tourney and losing in the first round when he does. They aren’t even in the same universe. His only good run was with Roy Williams’ players. Borderline t25 to unranked program is not the Carolina standard. And that 5 season 20 win record won’t even last a year since Scheyer is about to head into his 5th season and will almost certainly have 20+ wins again.
    • Rounds 4-5 for center.  There's no dominant guy for an early selection, but a good group of solid guys later on.  Be patient.
