Would You Be Okay with WR in the 1st, Terron Armstead in the 2nd

And do you think he'll be there? It seems everyone is okay with taking a WR in the 1st, in fact, most seem to want a WR in the 1st. Assuming we do so, would you like Terron Armstead in the 2nd? And no, this isn't based on his 40 time, but for the most part, I trust Mayock's take on players and as he said yesterday, Armstead looked the part at the Senior Bowl and then confirmed what they thought they saw at the Senior Bowl with his performance yesterday.

According to NFLDraftScout.com, (I assume this was updated after the combine as his numbers are posted there) he is ranked as the 10th OT in the draft and projected in the 3rd, but I have a feeling he will become a franchise tackle.

I like Bakhtiari the most out of the 2nd round possibilities. Though Armstead is a very appealing prospect. There's some strong talent on the OL in this draft.

If we somehow end up with Patterson in the 1st, I'd be fine with grabbing one of those guys. Otherwise, I like Brandon Williams at DT/NT or Philip Thomas at safety.

my preference is WR, FS, or OT. in the first two rounds. we should have two of those positions addressed in the first couple rounds and hopefully we trade back into the third and pick the remaining of the three there.

interior linemen should be FAs.

No doubt, safety is an urgent need, as is CB and DT as well, but I'd be happy with a WR, OT 1st and 2nd... Especially if we address CB and DT in free agency with capable players as Gettleman claims we will.

I'm not familiar with Bakhtiari, but I'll have to look into him. I just think from what I've heard, seen, and gathered about Armstead combined with his performance at the combine, he's a small-school guy with huge potential. And you can't fake the footwork, which is what Mayock has been raving about.

Yeah, Armstead looks like quite the specimen. Could be a late 1st when all is said and done.

Concerning CB & DT: I really hope we get a CB in the FA. I just don't like this class at all minus Milliner, Rhodes, & Trufant. On the DL we need a run stuffer but an added 3-tech type could also be helpful. This is why I think Brandon Williams would be such a good fit. He can compliment D'wan and also Hardy/Alexander when they are inside. Lots of potential there.

About Bak: Colorado as a team was baaad but he was damn strong. He replaced Nate Solder after his time as a RT and proved to be strong at LT. The deal is, he's arguably the most versatile lineman in the draft. His measurables may not seem to stack up to the level of a Dallas Thomas at a glance but he's damn close. If he beefs up just a little, he's good to go at almost any OL position. He even claims he can play any position on the OL and is a gym nut from what I've read. Just very intriguing and if him and Solder are as close as they claim to be and really developed together at CU, I think he could be very good for our line for added depth, a fill-in G, and a potential Gross replacement. At the least, a decent option to consider.

While Colorado struggled through yet another poor season in 2012, which ultimately led to the firing of head coach Jon Embree, Bakhtiari against was a bright spot with second-team All-Pac-12 honors.

"I've been contemplating this for a long time," Bakhtiari said in announcing he would leave school a year early for the NFL. "It didn't have anything to do with Jon Embree [former Colorado head coach] being fired. I had always intended to see where the NFL was going to position me after I submitted myself for the review.

"The evaluation came back and had me in the second- to third-round range for a pick, but I also received some good feedback from Steve Marshall [Colorado offensive line coach] and Coach Embree, who spoke with several of their contacts around the league, and they thought I might even go a little bit higher, and that helped, too."

100% agree, I think were gonna go safety a lot higher than most expect, Rivera coached his best D in San Diego cuz of weddle and people seem to just ignore that we wanted Barron over kuechly last year if he fell to our pick.

Very good point right here. Our pre-draft roster moves will be very interesting to see b/c if we don't address safety, we could very well draft one high. So many possibilities this year. Pretty exciting if I may say so myself.

A 300lb+ guy w/ good "measurables" in the second wouldn't be a bad pick, though I would wonder if he can be a true impact player from day one, or might take time to develop like Meanie. So in that respect it would put me in the mind of last year's draft.

Regarding safety and corner, I still have my eyes on Rambo and the Honey Badger. I believe that either would probably be available in the third (if we could trade back into the third). I don't know that either of them will be available in the fourth, but I would bank on at least one of them lasting until we pick. Depending on their workout, they may go higher then I anticipate, especially Rambo. Mathieu is a little undersized, but he is a gamer so I wouldn't mind grabbing him in the fourth if he is there. A real return threat. I dream of starting past the fourty yard line with regularity.

yeah hes being compared to duane brown, one the best left tackles, in the league right now.

he still needs lots of work and coaching but he has so much potential and physical athletic ability...he would be hard to pass up.......if you could get him in the 2nd that would be great...if you guys want some tape on him ill post.

    • I honestly feel bad for Willis. I mean, good that he got a decent (NFL QB speaking) payday and will be set for life, but in terms of actually competing and providing he's a legit starter? The Dolphins are gonna carry $175M in dead cap this year and they have an out in Willis' contract after the 2027 season. This seems like the most obvious tank job in history with Willis signed as cover for it.
    • I was scrolling X (Twitter) and I came across this clip....If I shows up here I'd be shocked.  Anyway it was supposed to highlight the blocking ability of Antonio Williams.  All I noticed is how well Blake Miller moved on pulls and in space.  I'm thinking it should be Miller Time in Carolina. I think with half a season of coaching that either Miller or Iheanachor could end up at LT, specifically Iheanachor with his footwork and those super long arms.  He's raw, but that could be a good thing with those natural athletic gifts.   https://x.com/NFL_DF/status/2033992963659796861?s=20
    • I am using Kelce more as an example of what people think you get with a 1st round TE.    3 f the top 4 yardage guys of all time are 1st rounders. I think. But realize these would be the guys with super long careers, and/or top QBs throwing to them. We don’t have a top QB.    And there have been Plenty of first round disappointments too. More of them than the all time leaders for sure.    We were treating Bryce as the ultimate ‘don’t fug it up’ game manager in order to get a few of those 8 wins. And to stay close in some losses.   1st round picks, starting in 2023 that have been used on a WR or on the QB? 2023 1 (qb) 2024 2 (1 & 32) (qb, wr) 2025 1 (wr) When does it stop?
