Panthers on the Decline???

Recommended Posts

Just a guy on the outside forming an opinion based upon things he's heard from other press, (that's on the outside) and what he saw in the Cardinals meltdown, (Delhomme). No stats and other observations involved. Not anything to get excited and pissed off about.

That's why I pay no attention to most things said about other teams as well. They're just as likely to be inaccurate. There are a couple of guys who seem to get it right most of the time. The rest just seem to be throwing darts blindfolded...

The guy obviously doesn't read the Huddle. Yeah we complain and fight, but now that the make-up of the team has pretty much been set in stone for the coming season, the fans will get behind the team as we always have done.

As for the team itself, the Panthers are a professional organization inside and out, so team chemistry is NOT an issue. Anyone who is anything more than a fair weather fan knows this.

I don't get much in the way of news articles in my local news rag about the Panthers, but last year there were a couple of articles about how tight the team was chemistry-wise, and how most on the team thought they were going to make a big splash. And they did, 12-4 is nothing to sneeze at. That playoff hopefully left a very bad taste in everyone's mouths.

A team returning as many starters as we are has got to be in decent shape for this season. If we address our depth concerns, and stay reasonably healthy, we'll be fine. The teams this clown ranks as on the upswing, like the Lions and Raiders, can go nowhere BUT up, although I'm confident Al Davis will find a way to ruin whatever chances they have. The Lions? Heck, they're the Lions, with lots of new faces, and an untested QB AND head coach.

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
