They created 5.5 in cap space....will eat about 4.9

Harrson plays the run just as well as always...declined some as a pass rusher only in 2012.

Didn't leave anything out....watch Williams' 2012 season and he is declining as well in areas. All anyone wants to do is talk about his performance against the worst D in history. The rest of the season wasn't just Chud and the OL.....Williams use to simply run better and not go down when the wind blew.

Steelers have a long history of parting with guys....we leave that important part of there model out. Which pretty much means we don't follow the Steeler model

His performance against the Saints is still indicitive of what he can do. I don't think he's any less effective than before, I think the change in the OL and Chud going full retard with the scheme is what hurt him and Stewart alike.

He certainly didn't look very good overall this year....last game greaty causing people to have a selective memory. 30 yr old runners are suppose to decline from what they were.

Cutting a 30 yr old RB....on a team with Cam, Stewart, Tolbert where you can turn around and invest the cap room created in one of our MANY HOLES at starting positions certainly would more likely help than hurt the overall team.

Still think he gets cut eventually if he doesn't take a paycut. We might see that closer to the season and go after FAs that occur in the cuts closer to the start of the year. Will be shocked if it doesn't happen.

Comparing the 2 isn't stupid....they are both examples of the difference in how he 2 teams build there teams. Lots of others guys can be used to point that out....We let our superstars fall apart here and Pitt parts with them.

The difference is that Harrison can be cut right now and save his team money, if Dwill is cut right now it either

A. Cost the team 1.4 million this year or

B. doesn't save the team anything till June 1st.

Doesn't help the Panther's a damn bit in free agency, so it's kinda stupid to even compare the two because one helps a team out now and the other doesn't.

Harrison was cut because he couldn't reach an agreement on a contract restructure that reduced his cap over the next few years. Cutting Harrison saved the Steelers 5.105 million on the cap. So the steelers didn't just cut him to cut him, they tried to rework his deal to have him stay with the team and it didn't happen.

I don't base anything off of one game, but you can take some things away from it that are independent of their stature as a bad D. His burst was there, he was decisive again, he showed he still have great vision and the ability to cutback and find running lanes.

I'm not convinced DeAngelo has fallen apart, next year will tell the tale.

Furthermore, Harrison is 34 at a brutal position with a guy known for hard hits, DeAngelo is 29 has always split carries and is more of an outside runner than an inside power runner.
