Which need can/can't be overlooked during the draft?

I don't know that saying that Bell cant play RG is fair based on one game where you are shuffling players around. Didn't Williams play RT that game as well. But if you made the move and gave them time to develop chemistry it could be a great move.

I am saying the one game he played RG, he was not good--not that he cannot play RG based on the game. I wonder why he did not play there again, etc. We have to make assumptions-we are all coaches and GMs in that respect.

I agree, however, chemistry is very important.

The knock on Bell is that he is not that aggressive---however, it is tougher to be aggressive on the outside than in tight quarters. He seems to me to be an average pass blocker and a below average run blocker for a RT--however, he has improved each year.

I suspect the reason he went back to right tackle is because Williams was worst then he was. As you note he has gotten better each year but would likely fare much better is he had another guy next to him who was great instead of average or below. Look at how Gross struggled with Silatolu next to him last year. And when Hangartner went to center for Gross, it screwed everything up.

Sorry for the negative rep, it was unintentional. The button on my phone are really close together and my finger are big. Don't know how to get rid of it.................

No prob--I don't care about reps and pie, etc. just like debating topics with people who do not try to make it personal.

Good points. It is really hard to tell about a lineman. I watched Gross and Silatolu talking a lot after breaking the huddle and approaching the LOS. While it is great that Silatolu had a veteran beside him, I wondered about a few things. Here are my concerns about the pre-snap conversations:

1. Did it give away the play? (run to Left, pass)

2. Did it keep Gross from reading the D?

3. Did it mean that Silatolu was confused, playing slower than if he was not?

Probably "yes" to some degree, is the answer to each question.

While I am not a Bell fan, if you put a solid RG beside him, he would improve.
