What if we pass on WR at 14. Is there better value in later rounds?

Keenan Allen and Nuk are my favorite wrs in this class

Hunter/Allen/Woods/Wheaton/Rogers are my favorites (a little worried about Rogers character, but love his potential).

Tavon I consider more of a weapon than a Receiver, but he's up there too....

Like I've reiterated, there are plenty of things that Woods does well that you're completely ignoring. There's a reason he's likely to be drafted in the end of the first round or very early in the second.

Yes Sherman is the best DB in the NFL and he's proven it on the field. Also the reason I brought it up is because you made a comment about the Pac not producing quality DBS. Anyway I'm really tired of going back and forth so this is my last post debating you. You don't like Woods that's cool, just find it hilarious that you say he's not worth drafting because he's a USC WR, as if every single USC WR in the history of the NFL has been a complete bust. Also, the fact that you say Marqise Lee isn't worth a first round pick is all I need to know that you can't look at this topic without unnecessary bias against either player.....

I think we would have to be very luckyto pick up a number 1 wr in a later round ( like we did Smitty ) I think we need to spend a first or 2nd round pick on a true number 1 this year ( even though a high pick is no guarantee of sucess I know). Smitty is on his last legs - LaFell will never be a number one and I doubt anyone else currently on the team will either. Take Smitty away from Newton the last 2 season and what have you got? Great teams have great receivers - most of them more than one - we have Smitty .... and he has little left in the tank.

we could probably find at least an upgrade for #2 WR in the first two and a half rounds. really solid class of receivers.

we aren't limited by options in the first round.

Upgrade is the key word here. That is all we can do. I suppose the slot should be the focus later in the draft--Is that Hixon? If we cannot upgrade substantially, probably not worth it.

A good WR will fall.

I am for a WR in the first two rounds. As long as he can take the top off his side of the field. We don't really have a viable option with the speed to draw a S to him. Smitty is still Smitty, so he will draw a S as well. Teams will find it very difficult to cover the field when both of their S are having to play back.........We have plenty of possession WR. We need that guy with the speed and hands to open up the rest of the field. If that guy isn't there. Don't draft a WR in the first two rounds.

the WRs we could draft in the first couple rounds would be substantial upgrades and would improve the overall quality of the WR corps by quite a lot.

there might not be a megatron or aj green in this draft (not that we'd be able to draft anything close to that at 14 anyway), but there's still quite a few solid starters in this class. the best chance we have of getting a really good one is to take one early and not wait until late in the draft and hope that other teams have devalued this class.
