What if we pass on WR at 14. Is there better value in later rounds?

the WRs we could draft in the first couple rounds would be substantial upgrades and would improve the overall quality of the WR corps by quite a lot.

there might not be a megatron or aj green in this draft (not that we'd be able to draft anything close to that at 14 anyway), but there's still quite a few solid starters in this class. the best chance we have of getting a really good one is to take one early and not wait until late in the draft and hope that other teams have devalued this class.

I agree. I can see a Dobson or Swope becoming a pro bowler about as easily as a Justin Hunter or Patton.

I kinda want Swope. 6 feet tall, 205, 4.37 40, good routes and good hands. Am I missing something? If we took him in round 2, I would understand.

One factor that many of us probably are not considering: The QB on the WR's team.

Not a lot of talent out there.

When I consider WRs with weak QBs, you could be right---we did not know that megatron was megatron at Ga Tech. (Well, some did).

oh, i knew he would be. i thought for sure that oakland would take him first overall and laughed my head off when they passed him up for russell. there was no doubt in my mind that he should have been taken first and that he was by far the most talented player in that draft.

What facts? If you're citing that Woods was used as a decoy on every down for Lee then I'll stop right here and refuse to continue on with this debate. Unless the coaching staff told Robert to flail around and pretend to be a 'threat', Woods is an average talent with limited upside.

The best DB (Revis) in the NFL was on Pittsburgh's squad in 2010? What a great fact.

So like I was saying....

"Kiff kind of suited the play-calling toward Marqise," Barkley said. "It was rough at times, because defenses kinda knew what was coming. It was sort of predictive. Robert Woods is a great player. … You want to be respectful of your coaches, because they are your elders, but when it falls on your shoulders, you probably should get involved."

Like I said before, Robert Woods was a decoy last year....

Not going back and forth about this again, but I thought I would post this so you could see it's not just me who feels like Woods was a decoy in USC's offense....

Like I said I'm not getting into a back and forth again. I was just posting something that was relevant to the comment I made. I do find it hilarious that the argument most used to criticize Woods is what previous players did when he's nothing like said players.....

Also the other Steve Smith was becoming productive as a possession guy before his career got derailed by injuries....
