ROY For 3rd Year Straight?

Suh won it back in 2010.

That being said it's still going to be hard for Star, though I still expect him to make a push for it.

Yeah, Suh also had 10 sacks. That's absurd for a DT. If Star has 10 sacks, he'll win it. I doubt he beats CJ, Hardy, and Dwan to the QB 10 times though.

Suh and Star aren't alike. Suh is more of a disruptive pass rusher while Star is more of a dominant run stuffer. Suh is good against the run like Star has the ability to be good at applying a pass rush, but it isn't his bread and butter so he isn't going to be putting up close to 10 sacks like Suh did. Maybe 3. He'll do like he did at Utah and that is dominate the game (well, probably not as a rookie but down the road) but it won't show in numbers.

I don't think he will be as disruptive to the QB as Suh. But for some reason hes always attacking the RB in the backfield. He is definitely more of a run stuffer than pass rusher, but I think he has the talent to garner the respect of a lot of double teams while still producing.

Wouldn't bet on a DROY with this pick.

I'll be happy if he just proves to be the kind of force he's projected to be.

I know what your saying, its not the sexy position pick for DROY. But this is no normal draft. Who are we looking at? Milliner, Jones, Ansah, Mingo, Jordan, and Vaccaro? The defensive players this year have question marks to me. Milliner, has some big shoes to fill in a big city. If he produces that big city media will help him win. He's the biggest threat. Jones, might be in the best position to succeed. Ansah, no college production and or experience Mingo maybe. Jordan, never played full time in college to prove anything to me. And Vaccaro, hes a saint, I laugh, that secondary is so bad, he will look bad.

    • We don't have to tear down Dak to appreciate what Bryce did yesterday. Dak had 0 running game. If the cowboys were better, he'd be a legit MVP candidate if he keeps playing this way.  They did it with Ceedee last year, but they do a better job of anybody we play consistently of getting their best receiver off Jaycee.  Bryce was good too. If we just catch the ball that was intercepted, we probably win by 7+, and Bryce goes over 200 yards passing.  Biggest shift the last few weeks has been play calling. I thought Canales abandoned the run game way to early at times last year. This year he really seems to be sticking with it.  I still think Chuba is better at making 4 yards when there's nothing there, but Rico is better at making 30 yards when there's 6 there. I like the direction. Hopefully we can get Moton, Sanders and Coker back and really be dangerous. Our play action game is pretty deadly right now.  Unrelated: My favorite quality about Bryce right now is his ability to see the defensive hold and throw the ball there. He EXPOSES the officials when they don't call it. That one on Tetaroia yesterday late in the game was a bad miss on their part.
    • That sacks allowed number lookin juicy!
    • This is a game the Panthers should win... just the sort of game they lose. The Panthers have a bad habit that goes back years of playing down to the competition's level only to mess around and lose the game. The Jets game should be taken very seriously! But I want to enjoy the fact that they beat the Cowboys for at least another day or so!
