Saw DeAngelo Williams today...

Yes losing DWill, will create a big void both off and on the field. As a feature back last year he was a lot better than JStew. Then like everyone was saying here he is a fan's favorite player. I do hope he takes a paycut so that we can keep him, but he isn't the only reason (as in salary) that is holding this team back. Don't forget Charles Johnson.

Would you take a pay cut at your job?

If Dwill was even close to being as productive as Charles last year we wouldn't be having this discussion

Hell I'd cut both and bring in Bradshaw to go along with Tolbert and Barner

If you are saying bring in Bradshaw then at the same time talking about how injury prone DeAngelo and Jonathan Stewart is, then something is seriously wrong. Bradshaw has been dealing with ankle injuries longer than both DeAngelo and Jonathan. Bradshaw has been injured (46) twice as much as DeAngelo (25). Plus Deangelo is a better back.

He's the same back and he's cheaper.

Lets hold off on whose better as Bradshaw (2900 and 980 per year) has rushed for more yards over three years than Williams (1900 total or 650 per year)

Bradshaw also had 250 more carries than Deangelo in that time span

To put that in perspective that 250 carries is more carries than Deangelo has had in 6 of his seven seasons in the NFL

And how strategic of you to use the last 3 seasons so you could include a season in which Williams was hurt and only played 6 games.

Maybe he had more carries because Williams was on IR

You realize that I went back 3 years because we are talking about running backs

OMGZ Barry Sanders would crush it cuz he got 2000 yards 20 years ago

How far back do you want to go? What is relevant when it comes to backs?

More likely just a case of opposite personalities between Smith and Williams. One clowns around with team mates, the other punches them.

I just can;t see DWill being a locker room problem.

I don't know.  But in order to compare RBs we should at least be intellectually honest about it.  To throw out overall rushing numbers without providing that kind of context is misleading.

The last two seasons their overall numbers are very similar.

Yet Deangelo played in all 32 games as opposed to 26 for Bradshaw, but still had 62 less carries.

So in the last two seasons Williams has been more healthy, been as productive, and has done so in significantly less carries.
