"Probably the biggest thing for him is maintaining that balance," Shula said. "Because everything around you during the football season is going to be up and down."

I looked for this topic on the Huddle and did not see where it had been addressed.  Sorry if there is a thread that died on this topic, but I think it is significant. Nothing is more important to this team than Cam Newton's development.  So, if Shula goes public and says that Cam needs emotional balance, then it is significant.  I am thankful that Shula recognizes that the final piece to the Cam puzzle can be found between his ears.  I think Cam realizes it too.

There is a difference between a leader and a front runner.  Shula wants Cam to lead. I get it, but I also know there will be those here who do not.

so is shula planning to do this from the box or the sidelines?

btw, i think yas spun that comment to make cam sound like some guy with emotional problems who needs someone standing there beside him holding his hand. without context contexti think yas is pulling a peter king.

i do have this wish that shula had just stayed cam's QB coach. nothing against dorsey, but i think that's where shula is best suited.

let someone else call the plays and let shula stay down on the sidelines with cam. this would make me very happy...i mean of course if the guy calling the plays doesn't suck.

I actually think Dorsey might be able to help Cam out with this aspect. He's been in those shoes as far as being a successful Championship QB and then struggling at the next level and dealing with those emotions

?? i think shula is best as cam's QB coach. i think he's great at that. i'd rather he concentrated on that on game days and someone else called the plays. how is that a bad thing? i'm not saying he shouldn't be OC here. i'm saying let him be doing what he's great at....working with cam on the sidelines.

we think dorsey would be good at this, but we know that shula is. why screw with a good thing?

Being OC and QB coach is a bit much. I like Dorsey. Cam and Shula are still going to have plenty of communication.

no it's not.

i don't see why shula couldn't be on the field while someone else is up in the box calling the plays.

and i'm still wondering this...is shula going to be on the field or in the box? if he's in the box then communication will be more limited.

My first guess would be skybox, which I'm personally not a fan of, but they haven't said either way yet.

As for the rest of this, well I won't argue with you because you made your judgement already months ago.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
