The Panthers contacted Charles Woodson's agent...HOWEVER

We need more vets with playoff experience who knows what it takes to win. Remember how Dwill said Testeverde taught him what it took to be a pro. Woodson is a Pro's pro and despite his declining skills he maybe the missing piece to solidify a young secondary, being a coach in the locker room. If I were Gman, I 'd scrape together as much as I could to land him.

We won't. People just hear the name and want him. He is 37 years old. That is old as fug for a CB in the league. No way we offered more than a mill.

he is a S at this stage....

and if you look just at one year window.....he is better than any S we will put on the field in 2013.  One of which will account for a lot more than 1 mill in cap space.

Great. But with how much poo you talk about our corners, i bet he could play better corner than the people on the roster, right? I don't want us paying over a million for a 37 year old whose wheels could fall off at anytime during the season. That is just the reality. I don't care if he is better than Godfrey right now. I'd rather use that money to get an O-lineman. But that's just me.

He could lineup and be better than anyone we put on the field IMO outside of our nickel CB.  But he IMO could do his most damage at S....it gives him the most opportunity to take advantage of an opponent.

if we just look at a one year window....I'd rather have a RG more than anything......then someone for the secondary

What it says is we are always trying to get better in all areas.

Even if we don't sign him what this shows is we're not comfortable with our secondary behind closed doors no matter what gettleman says to the media (this should have been obvious in the first place anyways)

    • Over previous years? Sure is 😆
    • An odd little vibe I've noticed here of late: some folks are "all or nothing" to an absolutely extreme level when it comes to Bryce. Here's a bit of truth telling though: There are, in fact, things Bryce does well. Likewise, there are areas in which he's improved over his time here. He has, on several occasions now, legitimately helped us win games. On the flipside, there have been failures in other areas as well as coaching that we're not in any way his fault.  And finally , it is also genuinely possible that the team may see him as the future, even if we don't. The craziest part, though? It's actually possible that they're right and we're wrong. All of this is true, and more, yet if you accept any of these premises people go from zero to apesh-t in under three seconds 😳 Anything less than total disavowal of Bryce and / or agreement that he's the worst QB of all time and suddenly you're a "stan". Oy 🙄 The reality though?  Bryce is indeed an NFL quarterback. Not a great one, probably backup level good, and I've seen way worse. Now, if you run that statement through your personal Google translator and it comes back with some version of "I want to throw 50 million a year at Bryce for the next 10 years", that's not really my issue it's yours  I don't wanna make him the franchise quarterback, but it's not my call. Win or lose, the team is going to do what they think is best. And as always, if it disagrees with what I think we should do, I'm gonna hope I'm the one who's wrong. Internet clout means nothing. Watching my favorite team win at my favorite sport meas fun 😁
