Just a thought ...... Woodson is more of a cover/free safety, and it seems that Godfrey is better suited for free safety too considering he originally played corner in college.

Our front seven should be able to hold the point of attack on run plays and screens with the speed of our linebackers. This leads me to believe we need Woodson more than ever considering teams will try to pass on us more this season.

On paper I wouldn't try to run against our front seven. Woodson could be the secondary difference maker we need similar to what Troy Polamalu brought to the steelers over the past 3 years.

if there's one thing that's become transparent it's that gettleman won't budge on dishing out contracts that are overpayments. if woodson takes what he's worth we'll see him in panthers colors, but if he won't we'll spend that hard-earned cap space elsewhere.
