Gettlemen continues to get criticism for not bringing in a WR

I was listening today to Jamie Dukes and Eric Davis still criticizing the Panthers for not bringing in a WR.

My take is we had to make choices in the 1st round...... and I agree with the pick of Star.I guess the question is was there a guy in the 2nd round that would have supplanted LeFell ?

What free agent WR's have been available that would have a chance to start over Smith or Lafell?

A second round rookie would not start over either.

Ginn was brought in to compete for that 3rd WR spot in 3 wide sets.

I am not sure Dukes or Davis have a clue on what they are talking about.

I agree.....we did not have the cap space to grab a tier one WR in the FA market so the alternative was the draft.

Mike Wallace, Greg Jennings, Percy Harvin, etc

Make Wallace signed for 60 million, 20 guaranteed

Harvin signed for 67 million, 25 guaranteed

Greg Jennigs signed for 47 million, 18 guaranteed.

SO are we bashing Gettleman for not spending money that doesn't exist on his ledger?

    • yeah ive been a fan for a long ass time and ive learned to enjoy it while i can because its short lived. I aint a sucker unless it actually makes me upset like a child when they start to be ass again.  if someone has that emotional problem, then sure, that person wont buy in and get excited.  Me?  Ima enjoy the dubs and enjoy the progress we are making and chose to be optimistic, knowing full well we prob aint gunna be poo
    • Ikey is doing well.....IDK if he is worth top LT money. TBD, I guess.
    • I mean, we have shown some defensive improvement in areas......but we are allowing an average of 27 pts a game during this "dominant" 2 week window.  Jets have a less traditional rush attack and Fields isn't going to be trying to take it to the outside corners.  Fields being worse of a QB in theory could make him more problematic.  His runs aren't going to be into our DTs and he likely is going to play heavy in the pass game to the TEs/RBs (our weak spot) I'd say it's a coin flip game.  One team likely loses this one more than the other wins it.
