WalterFootball 2014 NFL Mock Draft

Recommended Posts

The fact that you think a WR is just as important then a LT is crazy. Not saying getting a WR isn't necessary, but I'm sure their a reason LT are the 2nd highest paid position in the league next to your QB or did I just make that up. So if your trying to debate anything you lost already their. My point about finding a safety or OLB is you typically have more options of players to choose from along with there salaries compared to Tackles. If a tackle is usually on the market their not that good, getting up in age, or want to much money. Does that make sense to you??

This is why Panther Fans get such a bad wrap. Most of you have no idea what your talking about. What has Gettleman said you win within the trenches he likes his big athletic people. So if are LT is in his last year possibly & is old don't you think getting a LT to protect are franchise QB is more important then getting a WR considering he won't get the ball if Cams on his back. Another thing are RT position is equally as bad so don't you think it is in are interest to get a RT as well to help protect are franchise QB.

So I firmly expect 2 out of are first 3 picks to be Tackles. Unless they sign Gross for a year or so to play RT & get someone to groom underneath him so that could be a pick in the 4th or 5th. Next year class is a very good class for OT so why not address both are needs in a strong class makes sense. Turn a weakness to a strength like the DT spot then are whole line will be young & talented minus Kalil on the young part that is. To protect Cam well into the future.

CB I personally am going to wait to see how are young players develop because they really weren't that bad in the second half of the year. If anything we really only need 1 even know it is for the #1 corner spot possibly I'll wait & see after this year. Will get a WR next year with sum speed so all of you crying chill out.

My list of top needs would be OT,CB,S,WR,OLB,K

If we can get some more cap room to sign one very good FA I think it should be Jarius Byrd to put beside Godfrey not only would it fill a big whole it would save a draft pick shouldn't cost to much either, also would be a very nice tandem on the back end of are D.

I know we have to sign the Kraken which they need to be getting a deal done ASAP before he goes & puts monster #s up again & wants CJ money. Which hopefully CJ gives some back. I know Cam contract is coming & without making the playoffs it only makes the price tag on him that much cheaper.

I personally think Gettleman his going to give Hakeem Hicks a look next year in FA even know I like Hicks he's injured to much so wouldn't like that very much, could work if he stayed healthy huge if though.

Also expect if Beason comes back healthy & has a good season don't be surprised to see him getting traded which would be the best thing possible for us. Klein was drafted to replace Beason or Davis they just want him to get groomed a little. Panther Nation I just ask you think more & stop crying about a WR already.

All kinds of fail in this. If you want to come across as knowing what you're talking about. You should at least get common words correct. Our vs are. Or maybe know the players you're talking abouts, name. Hicks vs NICKS.

Also as to to the LT debate. Lets play a game. Name the LT AND what round they were drafted for said SB teams/QB.

Peyton- IND

Rodgers- GB

Brees-NO

Big Ben - Pit

Brady- NE

Valid point, but you are naming 5 of the best QB to ever touch the field with 4 of them having very quick releases. If you want to play that count how many Tackles are starting on teams drafted in the 1st round. Point still showing how important they are not to mention my point about LT being the 2nd highest paid position on the field cannot get discredited. I feel your point still their will always be exceptions to everything you do or when talking about sports at least. Look I agree a WR is a big need, but first lets see how we look this year with what we got. I simply saying Gross is up in age minds well draft his air apparent in what is a deep & very good class which is why I expect us to draft 2 Tackles next year. I did say I think we will draft a WR next year just feel LT is much more important moving forward. WR is another position we could easily look to FA if we still have money.

Here's Walter's updated mock draft

Round 1

Carolina Panthers: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson

How much longer are the Panthers going to rely on Brandon LaFell as a starting receiver? They need more explosion on offense; not to mention a No. 1 receiver after Steve Smith retires.

Pick change; previously Aaron Colvin, CB

Round 2

Carolina Panthers: Quandre Diggs, CB, Texas

The Panthers went back-to-back defensive tackles this past April, so they could definitely do the same thing at the cornerback position (if they go with a corner in the first round) considering the circumstances.

....

And since I know some of you want Matthews...

Round 1 (22)

Baltimore Ravens: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt

It should be quite apparent that the Ravens desperately need help at receiver after what happened in the opener. Neither Jacoby Jones nor Marlon Brown should be a No. 2 wideout in the NFL. Think Baltimore misses Anquan Boldin?

I'd love to have Watkins but I hope we're not in a position to draft him that high.

We have so much needs that I'm not sure what we're going to do in next year draft.

I know, I feel the same way. Getting Watkins would be awesome but I'd hate to have to sit through another crappy season. However if they lose to Buffalo this week, there's no doubt in my mind we'll be in position to get Watkins.

Yeah Gettleman is going to have to address some of these needs through FA. There's just too many holes and not enough picks. But it's seriously time we address the WR position.

I'd be depressed if we passed on Watkins.

I need to wait and see how Watkins plays this year before I could say I would be mad if we passed on him.

If he is back to the Watkins of 2 years ago....would NOT want to pass on him.

But, he really faded last season.  Is he a one year wonder, or was last season the anomily.

I'd like to see us address WR through free agency; that way we will know what we are going to get.

Get a solid WR through FA and draft either Oline or secondary help.

We all know Getts loves the hogmollies.

If Nicks can stay healthy for all 16 games this year I'd be ok with signing him and drafting either OL or CB. I think Nicks would be a good fit with Cam. But if Nicks is missing some games this year due to injury I rather take a chance on a reciever in the draft.
